The previous two images have been processed in Photoshop. This image has no processing and is directly uploaded. I like the glossy tranquility of the river and the dramatic lighting. Spectacle Island is in the middle of the Hawkesbury River, which is about an hours drive north of Sydney. I climbed under the road bridge to find this wonderful location as the sun came up. Actually the day was very cloudy with intermittent rain. I went to the same location the following day but all the magic had disappeared.

CC-150 Polaris

Les Forces Armées du Canada gèrent cinq Airbus A310-300 (CC-150 Polaris), avec des équipages de l'escadron de transport 437 basé à Trenton, Ontario. Ces avions ont la responsabilité du transport de troupes, équipements et vivres, ainsi que la Gouverneur Générale du Canada, le Premier ministre du Canada et d'autres personnalités gouvernementales de haut rang ou des dignitaires étrangers. Quatre des cinq appareils sont utilisés en mode combi ; transports de troupes et équipement. Le cinquième appareil est réservé aux dignitaires. De plus, deux des CC-150 sont convertis en ravitailleurs en vol pour nos appareils CF-188. Ceci permet à une formation de 4 CF-18 Hornet de traverser sans escale l’océan Atlantique.

I wasn't planning a panoramic when I took these shots. So they neither line up nor are complete. Sheesh I wish I'd just turned a little more to the right and got in the picture the end of Spectacle Head, near Ripraps, the old community that was just beyond. Oh well. I hope I'll be there again in a few weeks. You can, just barely, see the cairn, the American Man, in the right-hand picture. (= The cairn in my previous picture.) If you view it large, you can see it better.

I took these just a month ago, in July 2010.
