Spectacle
First attempt at firework photography tonight. Thanks to James for helping to scramble around on the floor searching for my camera remote after I dropped it. Oh, and my spirit level after I dropped that too. Little pointer here: if you drop something in the dark, it's quite difficult to find it. Especially when you're standing in deep undergrowth. :)
The previous two images have been processed in Photoshop. This image has no processing and is directly uploaded. I like the glossy tranquility of the river and the dramatic lighting. Spectacle Island is in the middle of the Hawkesbury River, which is about an hours drive north of Sydney. I climbed under the road bridge to find this wonderful location as the sun came up. Actually the day was very cloudy with intermittent rain. I went to the same location the following day but all the magic had disappeared.
