We were fortunate enough to spend two evenings at the Grand Canyon, and while the actual sunsets weren't anything to write home about, the way the light played off the canyon walls was another story. Definitely the perfect spot for a sensational combination of light & shadows.

Connecting with Nature~
Let me start by saying that a HUGE part of my work is connecting with a scene, connecting with the nature around me, and although this may appear as a very serene, and magical place it is in fact the very opposite. I could not form any semblance of a connection here, and it took quite a lot of effort for me to form a vision in which to process this image. I have avoided this place for the time I have lived and explored in the Southwest because of the crowds that flow through this place. Although the canyon is stunning, the hundreds of oblivious tourists that are packed in here is something I have never seen the likes of. With 200 onlookers (video in comments) breathing down my neck, bumping into me and my tripod, and another hundred just beyond the bend in this photo. You are rushed through the canyon, given seconds to prepare and a few more seconds to make a photo as your guide tosses sand high up into the air. Never has my anxiety been so high...
I think I will stick with real nature, or as close as I can come to it.

Yesterday afternoon/evening the sky had all colours of the rainbow at the same time. I have never seen such a spectacle before - It was truly magnificent !!!

Roku Jizō signifie 6 Jizō. Une représentation très répandue au Japon, en particulier à l'entrée des cimetières, est constituée de 6 statues de Jizō, une pour chacun des 6 mondes Loka. À noter que le baton de Jizō porte généralement 6 anneaux, dont la symbolique est la même :

le Jizō qui visite le royaume des esprits affamés (en) porte un bol de mendiant pour nourrir les affamés,
le Jizō dans le monde des animaux tient une bannière
le Jizō du royaume des asuras porte la triple joyau (cintamani)
le Jizō du royaume humain porte un chapelet (Mâlâ)
et le Jizō du royaume céleste des deva tient un disque solaire et un vajra.

Wet spectacle refraction shot. This is using a more normal water sprayer with larger droplet sizes. Focus stacked using zerene. The only reason for using a spectacle lens for this is that it has a nice hydrophobic coating. See the setup in shots here www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/11128930354/
