Les géants veillent et sont témoins de nombreuses scènes
Le tonnerre s’ invite et gronde sur les légendaires Causses
Soudain ! l’ obscurité nous envahie, sans aucunes gènes
Heureusement les abris ne manquent pas
Nous entendons en échos, le bruit pressé de nos pas
Pour être aux premières loges
Car ici, les trois coups la Nature se moque ……

Suddenly! the darkness we invaded, without any genes
Fortunately, the shelter is no shortage
We hear echoes in the sound of our footsteps hurry
To be at the forefront

The stunning Oregon Coast on one of the several pullouts along Highway 101. This is the viewpoint just before 101 makes its way back down a bit in elevation into the resort town of Manzanita, which is featured here in the distance. I love my little friend at the left who joined me in marveling at the spectacle. Thanks for checking this out! Enjoy!

Connecting with Nature~
Let me start by saying that a HUGE part of my work is connecting with a scene, connecting with the nature around me, and although this may appear as a very serene, and magical place it is in fact the very opposite. I could not form any semblance of a connection here, and it took quite a lot of effort for me to form a vision in which to process this image. I have avoided this place for the time I have lived and explored in the Southwest because of the crowds that flow through this place. Although the canyon is stunning, the hundreds of oblivious tourists that are packed in here is something I have never seen the likes of. With 200 onlookers (video in comments) breathing down my neck, bumping into me and my tripod, and another hundred just beyond the bend in this photo. You are rushed through the canyon, given seconds to prepare and a few more seconds to make a photo as your guide tosses sand high up into the air. Never has my anxiety been so high...
I think I will stick with real nature, or as close as I can come to it.
