Monday macro theme Planes, Trains and Automobiles
I decided that I wanted a toy car and a real object from a car for this week's MM theme. The toy car was placed about 40cm behind the spark plug to give the photo a feeling of depth and to blur the car as not to distract from the spark plug which was the primary subject.
Poor Kong. One look at that blond and he was dead meat...

It's amazing how moment by moment the colors of a sunrise can change.

This gorilla is 2.4384m (8 ft) tall and made of an estimated 60,000 spark plugs. I'll take their word fot it and not try to count them.

Die Messingbürste kam bei mir in den 80er Jahren doch öfters zum Einsatz, wie sollte es auch anders sein, beim Reinigen der Zündkerze vom Mofa. Ist heute noch in meinem Werkzeugkasten.
The brass brush was often used by me in the 80s, how could it be otherwise, when cleaning the spark plug of the moped. Still in my toolbox today.
This weeks Macro Monday's theme is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
As many of these conveyances are powered by internal combustion engines, I thought a Spark Plug would be appropriate.
Of course it would have to be sparking.
Best viewed large.
HMM.
P.S.
This is a real spark recorded in this 2.5 second exposure. The spark plug was connected to a neon sign transformer that produced a continuous spark that you see here.
It was about time for Bujie (Spark-plug) to have a protegee, don't you think?
Meet Manivela (Crank).
Here, she is learning how to show googly eyes at the kitchen window :)
She's a lovely abandoned dog, of course with an almost unbelievable story I can't write now due to my enormous lack of time.
Shortest story - she was found by my kids in the mountains a week ago, dehydrated, having mange, full of ticks and fleas, and almost unable to walk.
It was night and raining when my kids were returning home from a meeting, and they have seen a white spot moving slowly near the road. Thank God she has white skin!
One thing is certain: love and care can make wonders.
I wish you all a great Thursday!
Tarrytown Light, also known as Kingsland Point Light and Sleepy Hollow Light, is a sparkplug lighthouse on the east side of the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow, New York, United States.
While at the Big E for Brianne's horse competition we got to walk around and see most of the fair. I quickly decided my photo theme was going to be food, specifically strange things fried, this is along that line. Everyone seems to offer some form of fried dough and who can resist! Maple Bacon must be good but I prefer a good Funnel Cake.
Continuing on with glow mode processing - Happy Slider Sunday! HSS
Old Kingsland Point Light or Sleepy Hollow Light, Built in 1886 is a sparkplug lighthouse on the east side of the Hudson River. Originally built .5 miles from shore to warn ships away from the shoals along the riverbank. now a mesusum.
With greening in the background, will these soon become obsolete? Wishful thinking, but not likely, as burning fossil fuel in internal combustion engines will likely continue for decades. But eventually they will only exist in museums. “Constant change is here to stay!"

For this Macro Monday photo the gas cook top became my work bench. I had the spark plug in the shed but the only way I could get the nice blue spark was to harness the electricity of the gas cooker.

Doyle Hardware Building is a historic factory building located at 330 Main St in Utica in Oneida County, New York. It was built in three sections between 1881 and 1901. The entire four story complex is approximately 100 feet by 260 feet with 82,000 square feet of space. It was a work of Utica architect Frederick H. Gouge.
Built originally as a clothing factory, in 1934 it became a factory for manufacture of spark plugs, and in 1947 became home to Utica Distributing Company, later Doyle Hardware.[2]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.[1]
Redevelopment
City officials and local business saw the building as important to the revitalization of the surrounding historic neighborhood, which includes Union Station, also on the National Register of Historic Places.[3]
The building was purchased in 2007 by a developer who planned to convert the building into a restaurant, commercial office space and loft apartments. A restaurant and bar opened in 2010 but closed in 2012 with no other development of the building occurring.[4] The building went into foreclosure and the developer declared bankruptcy on Jan 31, 2013.[5] The building was listed for sale in 2015.
