Fountain in front of the Santiago Cathedral, built in the 14th / 15th Century in Gotic style

Se construyó el sigo 14 / 15 en el estilo gótico

I took this picture in absolute awe of how beautiful and huge the greenery is in Costa Rica.

This was taken at the farmers market that we went to one Saturday called Feria Verde. Here they had fruit and vegetable stands as well as food trucks. There was also a chocolate stand where we could see the chocolate being made as well as artisan goods and Costa Rican coffee!

Students in grades 4-8 at Madison Metropolitan School District visited the Central Library in May 2026 to compete in the Spanish Language Book Bowl or Copa de Libros to answer trivia questions about books they read during the school year.

While different grade levels took turns competing for glory on the third floor of the library, the classes that weren't competing headed downstairs to the children's area to enjoy a zine-making activity in the Bubbler Room, explore books and games, and play in the play space with planned activities provided by Madison Public Library youth services librarians and staff. More than 200 students were in attendance!

Muchos estudiantes celebraron el cumpleaños de una alumna de la escuela y luego tomaron unas cañas en el Casco Viejo.

According to legend, ringing the hermitage bell three times will make a wish come true. I’m sure that some of the students wished that they could one day come back to this beautiful, magical place.

Según la leyenda, sonar tres veces la campana de la ermita hará realidad un deseo pedido. Seguro que algunos de los estudiantes pidieron volver a visitar este lugar tan bonito como mágico.

This was a traditional Costa Rican breakfast that we had. Breakfast usually consisted of a bowl of fresh fruit (which was AMAZING), tea, with eggs, gallo pinto, and a homemade corn tortilla.

En España, Martes 13 es día de mala suerte: ni te cases, ni te embarques. Por tanto, tenemos un gato que no es de color negro. Que os traiga buena suerte

Tuesday 13th is an unlucky day in Spain; people are advised "neither marry, nor start a journey" Therefore, we're hoping that this non-black cat will bring you luck.

Notice how we all look happy, since our feet don't hurt yet...
