I took this shot as my first upload for the new group 52 in 2014. A gentle challenge of fulfilling one or two themes per week. I'm hoping it will encourage me to slowly 'get back in the saddle' with my photography. If anyone reading this would like to join in, just hop on over and click 'Join Group'.

Colorado Boulevard has become the main strip of Old Pasadena and is packed with pedestrians and vehicles nightly. It is a mecca of entertainment, dining and shopping, and has become increasingly popular as tourist attraction and night spot.

Lots of people dream of moving to the country but who's going to do the spade work?

Near the inlet of Spade is a large lush green meadow, Mt Daniel is up in the gap and the outlet of Venus is far above.

Playing cards designed for my animated short film "Microcosm".

This prop has only a few short shots in the film. This is an interesting work. I designed it and added it to the film yesterday.

I took this a few months ago while watching the Motorhead documentary "Lemmy". It took me a while to stage this image haha.

Unfortunately, Lemmy passed away last night. I consider him a legend.

R.I.P. Lemmy.

I know it's just another Robin photograph, but it's my Robin photograph!!!

Wishful thinking in Winton

The album Ace of Spades was released in 1980 by British band Motörhead, with the title track becoming one of their biggest hits.

Motörhead was singer/bass player Lemmy Kilmister, guitar player "Fast" Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil "Filthy Animal" Taylor. The band underwent many variations over the years with Lemmy being the only consistent member until his death from prostate cancer at age 70, three days after Christmas in 2015.

A giant Lemmy points out from the picture above.

I was never a huge Motörhead fan although I did like this particular album.

A bit of a different take on today's We're Here theme of Playing Cards.

One of my clients has this very interesting spade. I have not seen one like it. Does anyone have any idea what it might be designed for?

This is one of the weirdest badly gone experiments that I have done with captures of my eyes. You've seen the color of my eyes before, and it is bottle green with brown around the pupils. What you see in this one though is darkness and a Ace of Spades in a hand. I have no idea how the color came to be what it is, nor how the hand reflected in it as this is no Photo Shop layering, or whatever else. Strange things have been happening with some of my photographs and this is one of the strangest. Have a great day my friends and {{{HUGS}}} to all of you's :)

What? You've never taken all your clothes off and stuck a pair of trousers on your head?

An elderly neighbour who recently downsized passed this on to us - we've used Danish Oil to nourish the dry wood.

It has years of use left in it, and we're so pleased that he wanted us to be the new owners rather than ending it's life in a skip. Quelle horreur!

Spades face cards from a cool old patience deck of cards we found at a flea market.

All the cards (2 complete decks) were there.

The cards are only 1 3/4" by 2 1/2".
