This interior view of the orbital workshop upper level was visible from the airlock hatch. The octagonal opening separated the workshop's two levels. The trash airlock can be seen at center. The orbital workshop was designed at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

___________________

From the dome of the Reichstag you can look inside through the impressive construction of steel and glass.

The Bundestag ("Federal Diet" or "Lower House of German Parliament") is the parliament of Germany. The Bundestag members are the only federal officials directly elected by the public. Since 1999, the German parliament has again assembled in Berlin in its original Reichstag building, which dates from the 1890s and underwent a significant renovation under the lead of British architect Sir Norman Foster.

This isolated outpost is situated on the polar cap of the frigid ice world of Reppiz Nepo. The roof has a rotating scanner assembly & inside there's some monitoring equipment and an airlock leading out to the frozen wasteland. There's even flakes of snow & frost swirling around you, so wrap up well.

I'm quite impressed with this for a 30 minute job. I'm pretty sure real space stations are made out of tin foil too ;)

The International Space Station (ISS) makes a 71º maximum elevation pass over the Little Kennebec Bay, in Roque Bluffs, Maine.

The photo is a five-frame vertical panorama with the ISS's path composited.

the space station is going overhead nightly the next few days. a good time for capturing it as the moon is late rising and the sky is dark. check the schedule in your area at iss.astroviewer.net/observation.php

tonight my photos required a LOT of post processing in order to be anything, hopefully tomorrow I'll get something better straight out of the camera.

The International Space Station / ISS

The ISS is a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in low Earth orbit, with an orbital speed of 17,100 mph (27,600 km/h). It has been continuously occupied by humans since November 2000. It is the largest artificial satellite in orbit with a length of 357.5 ft (109 m).

Each one of the 4 images in this composite was processed like a small planetary image stack:

12 x 1/4000 second ISO6400 (best of 15 to 30 frames each)

Apparent magnitude: -3.5

Apparent diameter: 42"

Distance: 335 mi (539 km) at 49° altitude

Atmospheric seeing: 2/5

Captured from 23:36:24 to 23:37:44 UTC on 02/05/22

Camera: Canon 7D Mark II

"That's no moon."

('Death Star' by Galoob Toys / Micro Machines Space)

InteInternational Space Station over London. After going through all the frames captured, this seems like the best one. The ISS is a difficult target to image because it is only 72.8 meters long, 108.5 meters wide and 20 meters high and is travelling at 17,200 mph at a height of apprximately 250 miles above Earth. Also, parts of it are in shadow and other parts strongly reflect sunlight so exposing it properly is a challenge. For this shot gain was set to maximum and exposure to as fast as possible. Although the shot could probably be better this is by far the most successful attempt so far. I'm not too familiar with all the features of the ISS but I think you can see a Zvezda Service Module on the left and a vehicle docked on the right. The ISS has an orbital period of 92.49 minutes and completes 15.54 orbits every 24 hours.

At first I want to thank Mandy for the cool idea on the processing. Thank you honey.

Creating this shot too me about 2,5 hours inside quiet unpleasant surroundings.

This place was humid, dark, and a bit frightening.

It took me so long, since I did not know exactly what I wanted to create. All I knew was, that I wanted to create something dark and moody, since the location offered everything that would be needed for that.

I shot until I had results that appealed to me.

I am happy with the result, but a bit unsure whether there are enough details in the shot.

I would love to know your impressions, thoughts and ideas on the concept and technical part.

Does the message come across? Don't hesitate to tell what you think. Please be honest.

I would also love to know whether you would be interested in a Before and After of the shot?

Jess Bunchek, an associate scientist at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, harvests shungiku – an Asian green comparable to an edible chrysanthemum – inside the Veggie growth chamber in the Space Station Processing Facility on Sept. 30, 2019, for a science verification test (SVT). The SVT included the harvest of two other plant cultivars – amara mustard and ‘outredgeous’ red romaine lettuce – and will study their potential to grow in space. All three lettuce plants were grown from seed film, making this the first SVT with this new plant growth material. Earlier this year, the amara mustard and shungiku plants were grown for the first time using seed bags – referred to as pillows – during the Sustained Veggie project, a study funded by the Human Research Program.
