What for? We don't even know what these automatons are selling.

Only one way to find out...

For those unfamiliar with the concept: in ancient times, before space stations, stamped pieces of metal were used to buy things. At least if you weren't a Viking.

Toy Project Day 3742

'Can't find him, he's no where to be seen.

Could he have wondered off to some retreat, like Spacebot did in the beginning?'

'No, I can hear him walking on the outside, 'clunk, clunk, with his magnetic feet... He has to be somewhere!

We have to find him before the next ship arrives, we can't tell Control we lost Buildingbot!'

'Fantastic, this is like one of those really clever pop-up campers. We even have a pizza oven!'

'Are you sure Space Station phase one is supposed to look like a windmill?'

'Well, the instructions were a bit cryptic. And Spacebot might have missed out on a few pieces... But we've got air, we've got room and the pizza is almost done... Get in here!'

==========================

This is pretty much why I wanted a more or less classic capsule as well; I wanted a 'Skylab' like space station for starters.

It was one of the last things I tried to build while I was growing out of Lego as a kid... Never dreamt Lego would one day lead to this!

Build with one space module from set 60227, and the capsule from set 60350.

What are you on about? What even is a franken cheese?

Wrong film? This is a Space Station, you really should pay more attention to where we are!

That is very impolite of you to say that. I may still need to learn a thing or two, but that doesn't make me a silly piece of junk.

When in a space station, of course I had to make some Starwars reference. The three adventurers are just spectators.

Waking up in the Necropolis Gully

BK began her precarious descent into the Necropolis Gully, a name lost to a small number of archaeologists and rogue explorers. The crevice itself was a scar on the ancient landscape, a vast, yawning chasm that plummeted into the planet’s geological memory. As she rappelled down the sheer, moss-slicked wall, the air grew thick with the smell of damp earth and mineral deposits, a primal scent that felt undisturbed for millennia.

Gravity? Why should I care, this is a space station!

I was very happy to find this new set last week at my Rossmann shop down the street - a drugstore with some Legoes where I buy a good deal of my stuff.

You might remember the corridor, I have used it a while ago, needed some repair before I could use it again.

'Was that the pizza oven?'

************************************

Saturday-easydinnerday...

The Space staion set 60227 came with a disk-shooter-pizza-oven. Sadly I have no way to show what this does in my imagination, but launching a pizza with that kind of force and speed in micro gravity... Wow!

Toy Project Day 3693

I've had some first attempts on the Milky Way back in May during a beautiful crystal clear night.

I was doing some longer exposures when suddenly the International Space Station ISS appeared and ended up as a light trail in this photo. Lucky snapshot :-) I decided to release this photo instead of "just" a normal Milky Way photo because the ISS light trail makes it special for me :)

The photo was taken on a guided mount.

Thanks to NASA for image of galaxy.

Today we're going to learn all about robots...

Oi you, the newbies! Shed your civilian clothes and get yourselves a white uniform. You should really wear a helmet, that silly hat won't do.

Now, where was I - you'll learn how to feed them, so that they'll get fat and ... program. Right.

(later, back in the corridor)

A white space cadet uniform? I really need to find a way to get back to our neck of the woods...

Mail Project Day 3747

Hello everybody! Sorry, I kinda forgot to upload this here! :D I made a little spaceship/spacestation! I wanted to use that big Vidiyo piece for something and the first thing that came to my mind was some kind of spaceship. I actually have another great idea for this piece which I hope to build someday!

I hope you enjoy the MOC!

This is my first ever ISS seascape shot. It is a composite photo of 21 exposures (f7.1, 25sec, ISO 1250), which equates to almost 9 minutes of total exposure time. The ISS was in shot for 8 of the exposures, but I decided to shoot a longer sequence to get longer star trails. The 21 exposures can be counted on by the light from a ship on the left horizon. The light on the right is from Selsey and Portsmouth. There is also a light going into the the sea on the extreme right. This was from a head torch of a fisherman on the beach further down from the shoot.

A display of moondogs (technically known as paraselenae) on either side of the waxing crescent Moon with a lunar halo and upper tangent arc, all caused by ice crystals in the thin clouds moving in this night.

As a bonus, the Space Station (ISS) appeared for a brief time rising out of the southeast but quickly disappearing into the Earth’s shadow as it approached the Moon.

This is a stack of 3 exposures, all 20 seconds at f/2.8 with the 20mm Sigma lens and Nikon D750 at ISO 400, taken off the back deck from home.

'Control, Little Grasshopper here, I am approaching the space station. Ready to disconnect from main booster, preparing for docking...'

A 10 shot sequence of the International Space Station, passing the disc of the Sun on the 5th Aug 2022 at 15:51:03.49s

A lot of patchy cloud about, and obviously at the time of the transit, the Sun was partially obscured. I was having to manually adjust the exposure constantly as the cloud was thickening and thinning. Still ecstatic at capturing my first Solar Transit. Hope next time the weather is kinder.

ISS lays down a fine track over central Alberta last night. View looking ESE from Sturgeon Co, seen between 11:52:33pm and 11:54:57pm MDT. Orbiting at a height of 400km, it would have flown over the aurora. This track represents about 1100km of flight in 144 sec @ 7.66 km/sec (27,600 km/h).

Toy Project Day 3735

A haven for smugglers and outcasts alike, the Crescent Colony is a ramshackle station orbiting one of the moons in the Spica system. Or so they say.

What was once the remains of an abandoned research station has over the years turned into a little colony, with inhabitants adding on habitable containers whenever the need arises, resulting in a farraginous mix of rust and color.

Spice smuggler? Space pirate? Bounty hunter? Pretty sure you'd find a home here...

Witch Project Day 3746

Excerpt from the plaque:

Space Station by Brian Kelly: “I make constructions from found objects and mundane materials. I’ve used other media but find the simplicity and honesty of discarded materials considerably more appealing. Their honesty reflects the temporary nature of disposable society and encourages a necessity to give the materials value. Each work is a record of how we live.

It's the opening night, finally! Guests from all over the galaxy are celebrating with Benny his new space station, drinking fine wines and eating exotic foods (Andromedan pretzels!?)...

The white and the red space guys (and the blue window with the transparent yellow glass) are from my childhood... so they are almost 40 years old!! :D

Ben, how nice to see you. Who are they?

Time travellers who seem to have a wee problem.

I see. Leave them to me.

-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-

...this is another example why I'm not too fond of indoor photography.

Outdoors I find a spot, place the minifigs, take some shots, done. If I don't find a good spot at least I had a good walk.

This shop exists for months - but I needed to change two details: A loose panel where the light shines through, and inverted roof bricks to illustrate that this is part of the Space Station. The walls are just upright panels, with the light shining through everywhere, and no chance to put more bricks on top. Took me about 90min to change details no-one besides me would even notice.

Shop Project Day 3748

Strapped in an Alien Cocoon

The air... where is the air? The room is sucking it out. It’s blue. It’s cold. It’s the color of drowning.

No... no, no, no. Don't touch me! Get it off! The linen... it’s shrinking! It’s sewing my skin together! I can’t... I can’t expand my chest!

WAKE UP! MOVE! DAMN IT, MOVE! My hands! They’ve cut off my hands! Why can’t I reach the glass?! SOMEBODY HELP ME!

Can’t breathe. Can’t breathe. Can’t breathe. It’s tight. It’s a snake. It’s crushing my ribs. Tastes like copper... tastes like blood.

BREAK! SHATTER! Why is there no sound?! I’m screaming my throat raw but the silence is eating me alive! BK! KATCHA!

No! Don’t sleep! The needle... the ice! It’s killing the pilot! If I close my eyes, I unspool! I fall apart! Stay awake, you coward! STAY AWAKE!

Spinning. Everything is spinning. The floor is gone. The gravity is wrong. I’m falling up! I’m falling into the black hole!

LIES! That’s not real! That’s a ghost! My mind is snapping! I’m looking at a memory but I’m standing in a grave!

Please... not like this. Not in a box. I don’t want to be a mummy. I don’t want to be nothing. I’m forgetting my name... I’m forgetting...

It’s a tomb. It’s a stone tomb. And the lid is sealed. Nobody is coming. Nobody is coming.

Heart is a bomb. Tick... tick... BOOM. It’s going to burst! My chest is ripping open! MAKE IT STOP!

God... help me.

Love this pose by Tara of the group at FarQ Photos and Poses called The Kiss (Shop will be opening soon). You can see how it's supposed to be here:

www.flickr.com/photos/crowcomics/33983708848

Being me, I changed things up a little. Grecho Q (from the FarQ group) was kind enough to give me the pose modifiable -- since I wanted to do a space shot, I moved them apart a little so that they would seem like they were floating into a kiss -- and because I love the shadow it made.

Look at the shadow. In the pic, they look like they are floating into a mutual kiss. In the shadow, it looks like she is jumping him. I can almost hear his shadow saying, "Oof!" It's like there are two stories here : one for the light and one for the dark.

So what do you think?
