This is almost the photograph I want to get from Lion Geyser using Heart Spring in the foreground. If the wind had been to the left rather than to the right, the rainbow and stream would help fill in the sky in the frame. A few clouds wouldn't hurt either, but I like the bison tracks in front of the spring. I'll keep trying until fully satisfied, but this is okay for now. Given this is an unpredictable geyser, it may take several attempts. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, September 2025

Lewis Falls located in Yellowstone National Park is a short drive from Grant Village. It's in between Grant Village in Yellowstone National Park and Colter Bay Village in Grand Teton National Park. One advantage to staying in Grant Village is it's location. It's close enough to Old Faithful, Yellowstone Falls, Lewis Falls and Grand Teton National Park. Lewis Falls is next to the road. On one side is the falls on the other side is the river valley which is equally as spectacular. #NPS #LewisFalls #YellowstoneNationalPark #SouthernLoop #LewisRiver #Wyoming
A layer of mist enveloping the trees in the early morning twilight. It dissipated just a few minutes later. Isn't it great how photography can capture these fleeting moments? Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, August 2025

Mama deer was heading into the woods. The two fawns decided it was time to catch up. They were so cute with thier spots. I could have cropped out the mother, but it explains what is going on. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, September 2025

The rising sun and geothermal steam in the early morning are a nice combination to make some interesting landscape opportunities. I think this was somewhere along the road in Hayden Valley, but can't quite remember. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA, June 2025

Norfolk Southern's P87 passes Andrews Geyser on one of the many loops as it ascends the grade between Old Fort and Ridgecrest.
The 'geyser' was built as a tourist attraction for the nearby Round Knob Hotel in 1879. After the hotel burned in 1903, it was mostly an attraction for passengers riding the Southern Railroad over the mountains and the railroad owned it for a time. It was given to the town of Old fort after the railroad stopped maintaining it in the 70's. Technically a fountain it is fed from a pond up on the hill through 500 ft of pipe. When there is enough water to keep it on, the water shoots continuously up to about 80 feet.

Australian GT Endurance race, first of the season at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, a beautiful weekend, I got very lucky with weather ( my first visit, and I will be back) Visually stunning, apparently great for bikes (Moto GP) but for racing cars; passing can be difficult.
NS train 111 descends the lower loop of the famed Southern Loops near Old Fort, NC, encircling railroad built Andrews Geyser. Roanoke congestion resulted in an extra freight out of Sevier Yard in the form of M36, resymboled 111 at Asheville, in order to forward North Carolina bound cars in a more timely fashion.
