Chaudière Falls, Ottawa - Mìwàte sound-and-light show – In the Algonquin language, Mìwàte means 'dazzled by a light or fire. This show is designed as a tribute to Indigenous people and was created in collaboration with the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation (although there is some controversy regarding the use of this sacred site for this purpose). The lights illuminating the falls were accompanied by a 'soundscape' which included drumming, melodic chanting and whispers of Aboriginal youth reciting in Anishinaabe, the language of the Algonquin people.
