In April 2017 I made a trip to the region Kaiserstuhl in the west of Germany (under the Black Forest). It is a sunny region with many fruit trees and vineyards. The fruit trees were in full bloom.

First temperatures below freezing last night gave us a frosty start to the day. We'll be back in to the 60's later but the time for the gardens to go back to dreaming is close at hand.
Bergeronnette printanière dans le Marais Audubon près de l'estuaire de la Loire. Elles avaient été nombreuses à venir nicher en 2021 puis plus rien l'année dernière. Croisons les doigts pour cette année ... C'est un tel plaisir de les voir chasser pour les oisillons !

Yellow Wagtail in the Audubon Marsh near the River Loire Estuary (France). Many of them came to nest in 2021, then none last year. Fingers crossed for this year ... It's such a joy to see them chasing insects for the chicks !
this group will be on to their next step in life...
they are moving at warp speed right now as they know the clock is ticking for them to fly South...
Still so many more to care for.... and I will certainly miss them when they leave...

I saw this as I was climbing into the car for a rare trip to buy essentials. I just thought this tulip looked good enough to go back inside and put the Trusty Nikon to work.

These are wonderful fall icons. I planted a bunch of them a few years ago and now have small oak trees. I hope those coming after me will enjoy them
