I originally purchased a 580EX ii for taking pics of birds. It has the most reach of Canon's flashes. With a better beamer on it, I can get an effective flash to about a 100 feet.
But I'm really starting to enjoy shooting with a flash more and more. So...I got another one. A 430EX ii and Pixel King's off camera flash triggers. The Pixel King's are much cheaper than the Pocket Wizards and other flash triggers out there. The only thing they won't do is adjust flash ratios in ETTL in the camera menu. But you can do it when the flashes are set to Manual mode through the cameras menu. No biggie. They are so simple to use. They also use a different frequency than the Pocket Wizards do. Apparently this is the crux of the PW's as Canons 580's and 430's transmit some radio interference causing the PW's to malfunction. So that and the price factor steered me to the Pixel Kings. I got one transmitter and two receivers for less than the cost of one PW transceiver.

A few weeks ago I went along with Cathy, abstract_effects and
jonathenharty to Baron Hill near Beaumaris for a wee bit of urbex.
This is before we reached the main house, one of the lodges on the driveway up to the house.
This strange root on the wall really captured my imagination, reminding so much of some creaters from the likes of Res Evil or Silent Hill.

I was cleaning up today, and this sidetable is stuck between two couches where I rarely see it. Imagine my surprise when I pulled one couch out to find this. Hmmmm, who do you think could be responsible for writing on the furniture?

SOOC - no need to edit, they're more "documenting" shots for me!

Someone misses it a lot. Already. And maybe that someone hung up these floral felt circles to remind them of spring flowers. Though I guess they kind of look like snowflakes.
Take it as a gift ,, Just for you !
Sometimes I use you like a shield,
Cut down the rows of stinging rain.
Sometimes I use you like a pillow
Bury my face and I shout the pain.
You're like a rainbow on a field
You break the melancholy
You've become a sort of sanctuary to me.
You are the power that I wield.
Big Umbrella
Over my head
Big Umbrella
Cut down the rows of stinging rain
And when I'm feeling kind of hollow
Like a rusting hull at the bottom of Truk Lagoon
And when this world gets hard to swallow
And I just can't take another spoon,
You're like a secret just revealed.
Push out the stale air.
You've become a sort of sanctuary to me.
Anytime you're looking, you can find me there.
You're the Big Umbrella over me.
Anytime it rains.
Even tho i chose ther easiest project ever, thew weather has denied me from doing what i had planned. So you'll have to settle for selfportraits today. Sorry. :/
Was lovely to catch up with Matt before he heads back to Canada. Will hopefully catch Chris too later in the year. :)

Someone might think I'm crazy because.... I let my children and sister play in the cold ass water. Just look at the expression on my daughters face, that says it all.
