I'm sorry if this is too dark or personal, but I found out my half-brother committed suicide and it's been difficult to process.
On the outside he seemed like he had the perfect life. None of us expected anything like this from him. It's horrific. He left behind a daughter who's just a child.
I've always hated it when people write off suicide (or any depression-related symptoms) as the ultimate selfishness. It's a sickness just like anything else wrong with your body. It changes the way you think. But I can't help wishing he would've just told someone. Maybe talking about it would have meant that people didn't think he was perfect anymore, but at least he might be here.
It's okay not to be perfect. It's okay not to have answers. There are people out there to help. Talk about it. Tell someone.
Please.

This is a song for someone
I have yet to meet
She could be riding on the subway
Or sleeping in the street
This is a song for someone
I may never know she could be dead
In someone’s memory
But how am i to know ?
This is the song for no one
I have ever known
And i don’t need these old photographs
To tell me that i'm alone
This song is for someone
This song is for someone
I'll take a train that travels far
That takes me near to where you are
I'll take no radio for company
I'll take no baggage
Just a photograph
This is a song for someone
I may never know
You could be riding on the subway
You could be driving through the snow
This is a song for someone

This was the end of a marathon shoot with Kim. This is the first time I shot with her and we didn't want to stop but we ran out of light and she was freezing. We did this shoot in the Star River Walk Park in mid-October 2020. Hopefully this was the first of many shoots with this amazing young lady.
We did a small group shoot at the Idaho Capitol Building with some new (to us) models. Chante was one of the models - wow - what an amazing young lady. She is very sharp, focused, gorgeous, curvy, and a blast to shoot with. I had a chance to shoot with her briefly before she was model-napped by the other photographers but I think we will do some more shoots in the near future.
I took these photos in early January 2020.
Seafield, Kirkcaldy on wild Thursday afternoon in March. Arrived with about an hour to go before low tide (due at 4pm) to see the waves rolling in and a bit of colour in the sky so stayed for about 2 hours. Was absolutely baltic but you tend to forget the cold when you absorb yourself in rocks and waves and cleaning filters and watching for rogue waves. More on my blog

Look at original size to see everything. More than anything, I would love to have that Ex Lax thermometer.

Someone can afford to have a private place on the sea here in Taormina, Sicily. Definitely the place to be on a hotter summer day.
