Is just sand and water baby, Sand and Water, and a million years gone by.
Lyrics to a song, sung, written and composed by Beth Neilson Chapman dedicated to her late husband who lost his battle with cancer.
Beth Nielsen Chapman – Sand And Water Lyrics
All alone, I didn't like the feeling
All alone, I sat and cried
All alone, I had to find some meaning
In the center of the pain I felt inside
All alone, I came into the world
All alone, I will someday die
Solid stone is just sand and water, baby
Sand and water, and a million years gone by
I will see you in the light of a thousand suns
I will hear you in the sound of the waves
I will know you when I come, as we all will come,
Through the doors, beyond the grave
All alone, I heal this heart of sorrow
All alone, I raise this child
Flesh and bone, he's just
Bursting towards tomorrow
And his laughter fills my world, and wears your smile
All alone, I came into the world
All alone, I will someday die
Solid stone is just sand and water, baby
Sand and water, and a million years gone by

The 12-foot-wide, 150-ton segments were shipped by rail for 30 years. A clamshell-like cover, hinged at the top, protected the hardware throughout the journey. Fully loaded, a single segment car weighs in at 513,000 pounds.

Artist Anthony McCall's "Solid Light Works" installation - it's a very immersive experience. The room is very, very dark and there's a mist to add to the atmosphere. The camera sees more light then your eyes.

After a solid week of rain and all of the somber news from Covid 19 sweeping the world I needed to post some color! I hope this brightens your day!!

We're perilously close to sunset and the ISO has been cranked to 1600 as CN 321 emerges from the Turcot Interchange with a pair of ES44AC's both still in the Citirail paint scheme (CN 3976 & CN 3983).
Another image taken in the area of the Bison Loop at Elk island National Park. I love trees, and even in this state I find them beautiful and interesting. I am not sure what happened to this one, maybe disease had weakened it, or perhaps it succumbed to old age. It looked like it stood alone, straight and tall for many years. Being so straight and solid looking I suppose this snag will stand proud still for years to come.

Here Soo 6039 & 6036 are leading X500 east after a crew change at Wyoming Yard. X500 was the single remaining CP trackage rights train operating across Michigan on CSX's Grand Rapids and Plymouth subdivisions. More often than not the power would be grungy CP GE's but every so often us Michigan railfans would be thrown a bone.

If we had a keen vision and feeling it would be like hearing the grass grow and the squirrel's heart beat, and we should die of the roar which lies on the other side of silence.
