Petrified wood (from the Latin root petro meaning "rock" or "stone"; literally "wood turned into stone") is the name given to a special type of fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation. Petrifaction is the result of a tree or tree-like plants having been replaced by stone via a mineralization process that often includes permineralization and replacement. The organic materials making up cell walls have been replicated with minerals (mostly a silicate, such as opal, chalcedony, or quartz). In some instances, the original structure of the stem tissue may be partially retained. Unlike other plant fossils, which are typically impressions or compressions, petrified wood is a three-dimensional representation of the original organic material. (Wikipedia)

The sun sets over a section of the Blue Lagoon which is located in the Svartsengi geothermal field, about 2.5 mile (4 km) north of the village of Grindavík. The location's name, Svartsengi, means "black field" in Icelandic and is appropriate given that the station is located on a 800 year old basaltic lava flow called Illahraun. The geothermal field is one of several located in the Reykjanes Volcanic Field which is a direct continuance of the North Atlantic Ridge on to the Island of Iceland. Illahraun was extruded during the most recent eruptions in the volcanic field which was called by the Vikings the Reykjaneseldar (Reykjanes Fires). These eruptions on the Peninsula occurred between 1210 to 1240. The strong seismic (earthquake) activity and constant eruptions traumatized and terrified the Norse settlers. That fact is obvious in the names they applied to the events. Illahrun means in "Lava of horror" in Icelandic. The movement of magma underground and along faults caused elevation changes on the Peninsula. Illahrun cooled quickly it moved toward the sea. The basaltic lava that dominates the flow is aa. This lava is characterized by a rough or rubbly surface composed of broken lava blocks called clinkers. The clinker-covered surface actually covers a massive dense core, which was the most active part of the flow. As the pasty lava in the core traveled downslope, the clinkers were carried along at the surface. At the leading edge of an aa flow, however, these cooled fragments tumble down and are buried by the advancing flow. This produces a layer of lava fragments both at the bottom and top of an aa flow. This blocky rough surface on the solidified lava flow is obvious in the photo.

The water in the photo discharges from the geothermal plant. The first phase of the electric power station was built in 1976. It was the world'´s first geothermal power plant that produced both electric and hot water for teleheating (district heating). Such systems distribute heat generated in a centralized location for residential and commercial heating requirements such as space heating and water heating. Water discharge from the plant was released into the fracture filled lava field. Unexpectedly, silica quickly sealed the fractures and vesicles and pools of water formed in the low spots with in the black volcanic field. Waste water containing sulfur, silica, salts and algae was building up in the lava flow due to mistakes and miscalculations on the part of the Utility Company. The power company fenced the area off but its own workers would soak in the waters. One of them had psoriasis. After some time of bathing in the muddy pools outside of his work place his condition began to improve at a speed so alarming that it made his doctor curious. The doctor began a research on the water. He found out that it was not only non-toxic, it also had massive health benefits for people suffering of many kinds of skin ailments. In 1981, It became known as Bláa Lónið, The Blue Lagoon. People started bathing in it when its supposed healing powers were popularized. In 1992, the Blue Lagoon company was established, and the bathing facility was opened for the public. Now advertised as a spa, its prices are high even for Iceland. The water shown in this photo is outside the swimming area. A trail that goes around this part of the flooded basalt flow. The white lining is sinter, silica that has precipitated out of the water. The waterâs milky color is due to silica that is in solution. At the source, the temperature of the geothermal fluid in the wells is superheated to 240°C (464°F). However the water that comes out of the power plant in to the Blue Lagoon averages 37-39 °C (99-102°F).

Studies show that over 80% of the tourists that visit Iceland go to the Blue Lagoon. It is considered by many to be one of the top natural wonders in Iceland. In fact in its "Wonders of the World" edition, National Geographic listed the Blue Lagoon in Iceland as one of the most impressive wonders of the world. A wonder, it may be but natural it is not. The hot water may be natural, the silica is natural but the silica rich warm water ponded in the craggy basalt flow is not natural or normal. What is a wonder is why the power utility was allowed to dump its mineral filled water in the natural environment. That would have led to fines in other countries. My family really enjoyed the place. I loved the photos I took but it is not a natural hot spring or fed by natural hot springs. Despite the beauty and praise, it is still a power plant!

The power station, was constructed in six sequent phases (finished in 2008), in each phase they built a new power plant, so the generation capacity increased to 150 MWth for the district heating and the nameplate capacity to 75 MW for electricity power. The Svartsengi Power Station is the only heating system for the local district on the Reykjanes Peninsula, which pipes hot geothermal water to more than 21,000 households

Fitz Roy (Patagonia) 20240205

Monte Fitz Roy (also known as Cerro Chaltén, Cerro Fitz Roy, or simply Mount Fitz Roy) is a mountain in the border between Argentina and Chile that is located near the village of El Chaltén that is in Argentina.

Fitz Roy is a huge pyramid shaped granite monolith, carved by the winds, snow and ice. Fitz Roy is made of igneous rocks from deep in the Earth. When large tectonic plates collided about 100 million years, magma escaped between these plates and solidified between other rocks. The erosion of these rocks led to the formation of the mountain.

Kodachrome Basin State Park

Cannonville, Utah

The basin contains eroded, multicolored rock formations in various shades of red, yellow, pink, white and brown; together with the (usually) deep blue sky and occasional green vegetation this combination led the National Geographical Society to name the area, in 1949, with the permission of Kodak Film Corporation.

The one unique feature of the park is the presence of over 60 spires or chimneys of rock, known as sand pipes, which are thought to be solidified sediment that filled ancient springs or geysers, left standing after the softer surrounding Entrada sandstone weathered away. The tallest is 170 feet high. The Entrada layer makes up most of the red rocks in the park, while the overlying whitish strata are from the Dakota and Tropic Shale formations.

A slug having feasted extensively on a hapless mushroom (Mycena arcangeliana) lowers itself to the ground on a string of mucus (slime) in pursuit of fresh dining opportunities..........

Slug and snail mucus is most unusual in that it has the physical characteristics of both a solid and a liquid : when stationary it solidifies but when pressure is applied it liquefies. It's remarkable properties have found application in the fields of medicine and robotics.

The most intricate and interesting ice sculptures here in the desert are formed by cold temps solidifying pooled and slow-moving water, enhanced by the water's residency in a deep ravine, alternated with an afternoon thaw occasioned by the bounced light off a canyon wall which liquefies the top layer. This slick slush dances with trapped leaves and wind-blown sand, rearranging itself at sundown.

I find my own creative process mimics this seasonal and daily movement, yet I resist. I want to irrigate when the day stays sub-zero and the ice remains set. Impatient, I brew up an overwhelming desire to break through its crust, to smash it to smithereens into compliance. When the day dawns warm and sunny, the ice and its beauty disappears and I feel cheated with a keen sense of loss.

Today, the forecast is above freezing. My watered-down, winter voice whispers Move.

Fracture pattern on top of a tumulus near the Hōlei Sea Arch viewpoint near Ka Lae'apuki in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island. A tumulus is an elliptical domed structure commonly found on the surfaces of pahoehoe flows that crossed flat or gentle slopes. Tumuli (the plural form) develop due to upwelling of slow-moving lava beneath a solidified crust. To accommodate the inflating core of the flow, the brittle crust buckles and a cracks forms along the tumulus’ center for the length of the structure. These structures sometimes grade into more elongate forms referred to as pressure ridges.

From our Peanuts plush collection. This is a standard Snoopy plush with dark brown ears and nose, and his delightful red vinyl collar.

To find licensed Snoopy plush in Asia means it is probably from Nakajima Corporation, a major player in the history of Peanuts merchandise, particularly in the Asian market.

The Nakajima Corporation has a long history, focusing on many internationals character goods and toys with an emphasis on plush.

1919: The company was founded in Japan by Koichi Nakajima, originally focusing on celluloid toy plush.

1953: The company officially became a corporation and expanded its production to include inflatable vinyl toys.

1959: Changed its trade name to Nakajima Seisakusho.

1962: Nakajima secured a license agreement with The Walt Disney Company, marking its entry into major international character licensing.

1991: The trade name was officially changed to Nakajima Corporation.

2000s: The company established Nakajima USA, Inc., which became a key partner and licensee for Sanrio in the US, distributing products for popular brands like Hello Kitty.

Nakajima Corporation's relationship with Peanuts is a key part of its success and is closely tied to the licensing history in Japan:

In the early days of the IP, the Peanuts characters gained massive popularity in Japanese market, which has always been a significant market for the franchise.

In the late 1960s, the Japanese licensing rights for Snoopy were held by Sanrio, the company famous for Hello Kitty.

Nakajima, as a major plush and toy supplier that later became a major licensee for Sanrio, would have developed a strong relationship with the Peanuts brand early on, likely serving as a key manufacturer or sub-licensee of Peanuts plush for the Japanese market, where its influence is strongest.

Nakajima Corporation is known for producing a huge variety of Peanuts plush toys, often featuring unique Japanese-market designs, outfits, and seasonal themes that cater specifically to Asian consumers and collectors.

They are known for specific lines of Snoopy and Peanuts plush, like the FUWAKUTA Plush series.

In 2018, Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. acquired a significant stake in Peanuts Holdings, further solidifying the strong Japanese involvement in the brand's licensing structure, which benefits partners like Nakajima.

In essence, while companies like Determined Productions and Applause handled much of the US licensing for decades, Nakajima Corporation has been a persistent and highly prolific force in making and distributing licensed Peanuts plush toys for the Japanese and Asian markets for a very long time, and continues to be a primary source for Snoopy collectors today.

In our toy collecting, plush is not a strong point and that remains true for our Peanuts collection. The 2001 'Many Lives of Snoopy' series from McDonald's Japan is a plush series that we featured from 2020-2021. Because each plush figure was themed, it was easy to create specific scenes.

Also, in Japan we did pick up a nice series of small plush, about 16mm. These plush seem to have the same origin though there are different tags. The Law Label (The label that is sewn to plush toys containing copyright and materials information.) always has 'Peanuts' and a copyright for United Feature Syndicate. The cardboard tag labels vary with many carrying the 'RM' label. All of the plush were manufactured in Hong Kong. So, we think a Japanese company (Perhaps Nakajima Corporation) manufactured these and released them to various distributors.

Most of these plush have no distinguishing themes or names but rather standard figures released in a variety of colors. We've photographed a couple from this series here:

And here:

So, rather than creating scenes with stories, we decided to feature these lovely plush among the Peanuts collection and provide some fun information.

Punakaiki, New Zealand. Punikaiki, New Zealand. The Pancake Rocks were formed 30 million years ago from minute fragments of dead marine creatures and plants landed on the seabed about 2 km below the surface. Immense water pressure caused the fragments to solidify in hard and soft layers. Gradually seismic action lifted the limestone above the seabed. Mildly acidic rain, wind and seawater sculpted the bizarre shapes.

Camiguin is an island province of the Philippines located in the Bohol Sea, about 10 kilometers off the northern coast of Mindanao. The island of Camiguin is of volcanic origin and composed of four young stratovolcanoes overlying older volcanic structures. These include Mt. Vulcan and Mount Hibok-Hibok, still considered active having last erupted in 1953.

During the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vulcan that lasted from 1871 to about 1875, after continuously spewing out lava into the sea, it gained a height of nearly 2,000 feet and submerged areas of Catarman, including the town’s cemetery. Today, all that remains of old Catarman are the ruins of an ancient Spanish San Roque church, a convent and a bell tower. Remnants of the structures and gravestones of the cemetery were still seen during low tide until 1948 when Mount Vulcan erupted for the fourth time, which buried the area deeper by 20 feet. In 1982, a large cross was built on the solidified lava to mark this old gravesite.

The Valles Caldera (or Jemez Caldera) is a 13.7-mile-wide (22.0 km) volcanic caldera in the Jemez Mountains of northern New Mexico. Hot springs, streams, fumaroles, natural gas seeps, and volcanic domes dot the caldera landscape. The highest point in the caldera is Redondo Peak, an 11,254-foot (3,430 m) resurgent lava dome located entirely within the caldera and surrounded by moat-like flows of rhyolitic solidified lavas.

* The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles (5 km) northeast of the town of Bushmills.

It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 and a national nature reserve in 1987 by the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland.

The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are also some with four, five, seven or eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (39 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres (92 ft) thick in places.

According to legend, the columns are the remains of a causeway built by a giant. The story goes that the Irish giant Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn MacCool), from the Fenian Cycle of Gaelic mythology, was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner. Fionn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two giants could meet.

The sculpture, made from over 100,000 seized blades, was specifically created to highlight the negative effects of violent behaviour whilst solidifying our critical need for social change. Not only does the Angel act as a catalyst for turning the tide on violent and aggressive behaviour, but it is also acts as a beautiful memorial designed to celebrate those lives who have been lost through these violent and thoughtless actions

Dimmuborgir, Iceland.

Dimmuborgir was formed in an eruption that occurred in the area 2,300 years ago; the Lake Mývatn area is highly volcanic, as can be further seen in nearby locations such as the geothermal Námaskarð Pass, the hot spring cave Grjótagjá, and the dramatic Krafla fissure.

As lava flowed across the area, it passed over a lake, causing it to boil. This both quickened the cooling of the lava and caused pillars of steam to shatter parts of it. After it solidified, Dimmuborgir area became defined by large stacks of rock and many caves and caverns, caused by bubbles of intense steam.

As such, many have compared Dimmuborgir to a medieval castle, with its many hidden chambers and its rising towers.

Excerpt from www.teamlab.art/ew/ephemeral_solidifiedlight_planets/plan...:

Ephemeral Solidified Light

Innumerable masses of light float in the air, each one composed of multiple colors. The boundaries of each color are clearly separated as though they are solid.

The seemingly solid color separation of the masses of light is not seen in the natural world, and is caused by extreme synchronization. Through self-organization over time, this synchronization phenomenon creates a large ordered structure.

When you touch a solidified light, you realize that the visible part is part of something that continues to flow without interruption.

Life is a phenomenon like crystals of ephemeral light, miraculously solidified into a continuum of energy that continues to flow without interruption from a past whose beginning is unknown.

Worn details of a statue of white marble with some old paint spots make a wonderful texture.

This little canyon is so beautiful and interesting. The striped base rock is the Noonday dolomite and it is also very old - about 700 million years old. It was later deformed but as you can see, is still relatively level. Some call this a marble but it is a very low grade marble.

It is located near the base of Tucki mountain which rises up behind, to the South, of Stovepipe Village. Just after you leave Stovepipe Village traveling toward Panamint Spring, you will notice a road sneaking up a massive alluvial fan. This is the road to the parking area for the trail. It is also a hint of the wonderful sight you will see walking up the trail. All the material in the fan had to come out of the canyon you are going to walk up. This much material is enough to sculpt some fantastic shapes if the canyon walls are hard enough.

As you can see, the Noonday dolomite is certainly hard enough to be sculpted by the sand and cobbles that come roaring down the canyon during a flash flood.

The canyon is not named Marble Canyon, however, it is named Mosaic canyon. If you look on the right side of the canyon wall, you will see why. A conglomerate has filled in two sculpted alcoves in the canyon wall. The conglomerate is named for its appearance - Mosaic.

One way that the Mosaic conglomerate is deposited, is for a

boulder fall to block the canyon. The dark material along the canyon floor would build up behind it, filling in the swirls of the canyon until it reaches the top of the boulder dry fall. Caliche cement forms rapidly in this desert environment and solidifies the new Mosaic deposits. If a subsequent flood removes the boulder blockage, a new period of down cutting in the canyon will rapidly remove the new caliche cemented Mosaic rock. Only the Mosaic rock protected by alcoves in the much harder Noonday Dolomite will remain.

The result is a gorgeous, fluid-shaped canyon that is a delight to see.

____________________________________________________

On the south-west side of Lanzarote lies the bizarre rocky coast of Los Hervideros between the fishing village of El Golfo and Salinas de Janubio. Hervideros means "boiling" in German, and this appearance that the water is still boiling is indeed what the Atlantic Ocean has in this area. The rock masses were formed during the last major volcanic eruptions between 1730 and 1736, when the hot lava masses of the Montana del Fuego poured into the sea and quickly solidified. On the west side of Lanzarote, the Atlantic Ocean shows its particularly impetuous side.

The strong surf provides the best conditions for the approaching waves to squeeze through the crevices and shoot up into the air as metre-high fountains. The fact that the lava rocks are partly collapsed and hollowed out is also due to the surf.

Solo paddling with Misha on a partially frozen Cornwall canal. I had to ensure the ice was breakable before getting on. It was about 1/2 inch thick and crushable with the hull. Close to the center of the canal is was softer known as frazzel ice. I'm sure this was the last opportunity here as the ice will solidify and thicken soon with the predicted current cold winter conditions.

It will be k-k-cold this weekend. The temperature can drop to -8 degrees and that means of course only one thing: skating! After a few nights of good frost we could skate on March 3, 2018 at the Loosdrechtse Plassen. Every effort was made to ensure that we could skate. Plassenschap Loosdrecht has issued a sailing ban for the Loosdrechtse Plassen. After an extra night of frost, the ice is perfect. Beautiful black smooth ice without weak spots. Finally perfect ice to tie up the irons for skating enthusiasts. There can be wonderful kilometers of skating between the peat area and vast frozen lakes. You experience nature in places where you normally can not come. The northwestern part of the Loenderveense Plas is also referred to as Terra Nova. In this part of the Loenderveense Plas, experiments have been carried out in recent years to improve water quality by removing the bream fish. This fish accumulates the sludge layer that is formed at the bottom of the ponds by over-fertilization. Only a few plants and animals can live in this muddy water. Although already impressive results can be seen from the bream removal - the whole lake has turned from muddy to clear water, which also means that the water is freezing faster than other puddles. The peatland is a paradise for skaters from the west of the Netherlands, because it is usually the first large-scale area where you can skate on natural ice. Dutch also love Ice yachting. This is the sport of sailing and racing iceboats and is very popular in the Netherlands. Ice boats are racing at a speed of 100 km an hour over the ice of the Loosdrechtse Plassen.

Today 3th of March 2018 we got the opportunity to go ice skating on real ice instead of going to an ice rink. A good freeze only comes from a win in the climatic lottery. Thus the chance for our Dutch to be wild adventurers on their own land comes only every few years. We glide across solidified, frosted lakes with fish frozen into the ice. The Loosdrechtseplassen in the winter are a real skater’s paradise. The skaters enjoying the wide and smooth ice surface but also Ice yachting. This sport of sailing and racing iceboats is very popular in the Netherlands.

The management and employees of the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac had always been proud of their railroad. As the takeover by CSX appeared to be imminent, that pride seemed to grow and solidify. Back in 1986, before I ever heard the term "Heritage Unit," RF&P decided to return one of its GP7s to its as delivered paint scheme. Unit 104 was chosen because it was in the best condition. It had been rebuilt in 1977 after a derailment off line on Conrail north of Baltimore. Parts were used from three GP7s and one GP35 to recreate the "new 101." On June 19, 1986, when it was dedicated, I was at work and would have to settle of this image taken at Bryan Park Terminal after the ceremony. After several years of service, it was donated to the Old Dominion Chapter, NRHS.

Sierra Negra, large shield volcano, 7 km × 10.5 km, the largest caldera of all volcanoes (Galapagos). Perimeter whopping 30 km

The caldera is surprisingly flat. Partly only 100m deep, completely covered with lava that flowed from a fissure.

It spread quickly before solidifying. Hence the long + wide shape of the caldera.

One of the most active volcanoes in the Galapagos. Last eruption on June 26, 2018, after hours of numerous earthquakes measuring 5.3

Überraschend flach, teils nur 100m tief, vollständig mit Lava bedeckt, die aus einem Spalt geflossen ist.

Die breitete sich schnell aus, bevor sie sich verfestigste. Daher die lange + breite Form der Caldera.

To the left you can see the Three Sisters, rock pinnacles formed by three indigenous sisters solidified to protect them from a rival tribe.

Santa Clause, father Christmas, St Nick no matter what name he goes by; I bet you didn't know he spends spring in Durham.

The red Santa Claus uniform became popular in the late 19th century, primarily through the work of Thomas Nast, a cartoonist, and was further solidified by Coca-Cola's advertising in the 1930s. While Santa was depicted in various colors before Nast's illustrations, Nast's 1881 depiction of Santa in a red suit, often associated with the poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas," helped popularise the red attire. Coca-Cola's advertising campaigns featuring Santa in red and white further cemented this image in the public consciousness.

I often marvel about how, when we freeze time with a camera we are able to capture a single moment, a mere fraction of a second. In that moment, we are mining gems that would have otherwise remained concealed. Imagine if, on this day in April 2015, I had been slow on the shutter, or I had left even five minutes before. Maybe I hadn’t been out there at all. Still now, five years later, this is one of my favorite memories from my time at Brick Pond. In my mind I remember the encounter, if enshrouded in the vagueness brought on by the years in between. But this one brief exchange is magnified by its timelessness through photography. How lucky I am to have this memory, solidified by this image. April 18, 2015 Hoping that you are all safe and able to connect with your distant loved ones through telephone, social media or other means. If we keep doing the right thing, soon enough we will be back together and creating new and even more poignant moments. Don't forget to freeze a few with your camera, to relive a week, month and even five years from now. Stay safe!

Bushmills

County Antrim

Northern Ireland

The Giant's Causeway (known as Clochán an Aifir or Clochán na bhFomhórach in Irish is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. It is located in County Antrim on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, about three miles (4.8 km) northeast of the town of Bushmills. The tops of the columns form stepping stones that lead from the cliff foot and disappear under the sea. Most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are also some with four, five, seven or eight sides. The tallest are about 12 metres (39 ft) high, and the solidified lava in the cliffs is 28 metres thick in places. The Giant's Causeway is today owned and managed by the National Trust and it is the most popular tourist attraction in Northern Ireland.

Some 50 to 60 million years ago during the Paleogene period, Antrim was subject to intense volcanic activity, when highly fluid molten basalt intruded through chalk beds to form an extensive lava plateau.

Another image of the causeway can be seen in the first comment section. My current image was taken just to the left of the image below.

Did you know, inside the overhanging cliff behind North Falls, there are holes in the rock from when lava flowed through a forest, solidifying around trees, and burning them away. Which we can all agree, has little to do with this photograph

Cross my heart, hope to die

To my lover I'd never lie

He said, "Be true," I swear, "I'll try."

In the end, it's him and I

He's out his head, I'm out my mind

We got that love; the crazy kind

I am his, and he is mine

In the end, it's him and I

Him and I

My '65 speeding up the PCH, a hell of a ride

They don't wanna see us make it, they just wanna divide

2017 Bonnie and Clyde

Wouldn't see the point of living on if one of us died

Got that kind of style everybody try to rip off

YSL dress under when she take the mink off

Silk on her body, pull it down and watch it slip off

Ever catch me cheating, she would try to cut my (ha-ha-ha)

Crazy, but I love her, I could never run from her

Hit it, no rubber, never would no one touch her

Swear we drive each other mad, she be so stubborn

But what the fuck is love with no pain, no suffer

Intense, this shit, it gets dense

She knows when I'm out of it like she could just sense

If I had a million dollars, or was down to ten cents

She'd be down for whatever, never gotta convince

You know

Cross my heart, hope to die

To my lover I'd never lie

I love you baby

He said, "Be true," I swear, "I'll try."

In the end, it's him and I

He's out his head, I'm out my mind

We got that love; the crazy kind

I am his, and he is mine

In the end, it's him and I

Him and I

In the end, it's him and I

Him and I

In the end, it's him and I

It's her and I mobbin' 'til the end of time

Only one who gets me, I'm a crazy fuckin' Gemini

Remember this for when I die

Everybody dressed in all black, suits and a tie

My funeral will be lit if I

Ever go down or get caught, if they identify

My bitch was the most solid, nothing to solidify

She would never cheat, you'd never see her with a different guy

Ever tell you different, then it's a lie

See, that's my down bitch, see that's my soldier

She keep that thang-thang, if anyone goes there

Calm and collected, she keeps her composure

And she gon' ride for me until this thing over

We do drugs together (together)

Fuck up clubs together (together)

And we'd both go crazy (crazy)

If we was to sever

You know?

We keep mobbin', it's just me and my bitch

Fuck the world, we just gon' keep getting rich

You know?

Cross my heart, hope to die

To my lover I'd never lie

He said, "Be true," I swear, "I'll try."

In the end, it's him and I

He's out his head, I'm out my mind

We got that love; the crazy kind

I am his, and he is mine

In the end, it's him and I

Him and I

In the end, it's him and I

Him and I

In the end, it's him and I

Cross my heart, hope to die

To you I've never lied

For you I'd take a life

It's him and I, and I swear

'Til the end I'm-ma ride with you

Mob and get money, get high with you

Cross my heart, hope to die

This is our ride or die

You can confide in me

There is no hiding, I swear

Stay solid, never lie to you

Swear, most likely I'mma die with you

Cross my heart, hope to die

To my lover I'd never lie

He said, "Be true," I swear, "I'll try."

In the end, it's him and I

He's out his head, I'm out my mind

We got that love, the crazy kind

I am his, and he is mine

In the end, it's him and I

Fossilised Belemnite, Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire.

Belemnites lived during the periods of Earth history known as the Jurassic and Cretaceous; together, these represent a time interval of about 135 million years. The Jurassic Period began about 201 million years ago, and the Cretaceous ended about 66 million years ago.

The belemnites became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous Period, at roughly the same time as the dinosaurs disappeared. However, we know a lot about them because they are commonly found as fossils, formed when the remains of traces of the animal became buried in sediment that later solidified into rock. Hundreds , if not thousands, of these rocky outcroppings pepper the region between Leadville, Buena Vista and Salida on the eastern flank of the Arkansas River Valley in Colorado. They are igneous outcroppings of a large geologic formation called a batholith.

A batholith is large body of igneous rock formed beneath the Earth’s surface by the intrusion and solidification of magma. It is commonly composed of coarse-grained rocks like granite with a surface exposure of 100 square km or larger.

About coquina rock:

☞ “Coquina rock is a type of sedimentary rock (specifically limestone), formed by the deposition and subsequent cementation of mineral and organic particles on the floor of bodies of water at the Earth's surface.

"☞ “The coquina rocks at Washington Oaks are part of the Anastasia formation —stretching from the city of St. Augustine to Palm Beach County — that was created during the Pleistocene era (12,000 - 2.5 million years ago). Lower sea levels allowed slightly acidic rainwater to dissolve calcium carbonate in millions of exposed shells. This process effectively bonded the shells to the sand, resulting in the creation of rocks that solidified over time."

☞ “One characteristic of coquina rocks is the regular, perfectly cylindrical holes in many sections of a formation, formed by erosion of rock by rainwater. These weathered formations create shallow tidal pools that support crabs, sea snails, anemones, and other small marine life."

☞ “The word 'coquina' is Spanish for 'cockle' and is the name given to Donax variabilis, a small, burrowing clam that lives in the sand just at the ocean’s edge, and is the main shell component of the rock.

🌏 “The park's ¾-mile-long formation of coquina rocks along its Atlantic Ocean shoreline is the second-largest on the east coast of North America." (The largest formation is farther south, in Jupiter, Florida, at the Blowing Rock Preserve.)
