It's a semi-integrated install so the roof tiles are removed, mainly because that way the panels don't stick out that much and it makes it look better.

Solar panels are being installed on a building in Upernavik, Greenland.

The island has become virtually self sufficient in power through the use of solar energy. This has replaced the need for the diesel powered electric generators and the needs to transport drums of diesel back and forth between the island and the mainland.

A recent solar panel installation just down the road from my house. I wonder which cowboy firm did it. I reckon most of the panels are too shaded to be worth having.

Front to back: 100W monocrystaline panel, 45W amorphous panels, broken remains of what used to be 60W amorphous panels (now outputs about 5W on a good day).

 

The batteries, charge controllers and inverter are enclosed in the blue bin, and AC power is delivered to the hut via the orange 100ft extension cord.
