Mācības "Solar Eclipse" notiek jau piekto reizi. Nosaukuma tulkojums no angļu valodas ir "saules aptumsums".

Using the heat of the sun! To help warm our cottage we had a solar hot air unit installed on the back, south-facing roof. I love the sound of almost free heat when it kicks in!
The Solar Tour was on October 2nd and photos are from three sites: Knox Heritage's "Green House," 1 Megawatt farm, and Stephen Smith's home.
The cost of solar installation varies according to the type of installation, equipment and solar panels. It may even go beyond this in the case of large installations. Though the upfront cost may seem large, it saves money in the long run as it cuts electricity bills
and reduces carbon footprints.
The Solar Impulse, solar powered airplane has a wingspan as long as the 747 wingspan. This picture was taken at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on May 8, 2013. Phoenix was the first layover on it's cross country trip.
A marco of the solar panel that we had leaning up against the gazebo at amateur radio Field Day 2006.
Solar Energy World held the Solar Stars Soiree Thursday September 27, 2012 at Turf Valley Country Club in Ellicott City, MD.
On the morning of Friday 13th May my friend Stuart tipped me off that there was a huge looping prominence visible on the Sun. It was cloudy at the time but I could see a few gaps possibly heading my way so I set up the solar telescope just in case. What followed was a hugely frustrating imaging session, with strong gusts of wind and lots of cloud scudding past the Sun every time I started to capture video. My laptop screen also hadn't been fixed yet so it was incredibly difficult to get focus and exposure right. By the time I got a clear look at the Sun the large prominence in question had lifted off and vanished! However, I manage to get some ok shots out of the imaging session.
Coronado PST and ASI120MC fitted with a 2 x Barlow. I shot either 500 or 1000 frame videos with SharpCap and stacked the best 50% of the frames using Autostakkert! 3. Processing was done in Lightroom, Photoshop CS2 and Fast Stone Image Viewer.
This is a picture of the solar panel canopies on top of Mowatt Lane Garage. The University of Maryland has been committed to improving its sustainability through new innovations and practices that reduce emissions, waste, and find new and cleaner ways to produce energy. These solar panel canopies were installed on Regents Drive, Terrapin Trail and Mowatt Lane Garages to produce more than 2 megawatts of energy for the campus. Partnering with WGL Energy and Maryland Energy Administration, the university was able to install over 7,000 solar panels on the roofs of the garages.
This innovation coincides with the 9th Sustainable Development Goal by building and promoting sustainable infrastructures and innovations. The university's commitment to the President's purchased Energy Initiatives focuses largely on the Climate Action plan to make sure that all of the university's purchased energy is from renewable sources by the year 2020. The solar panel canopies on the roof will combine their generated energy with that of the solar panels on the campus' other buildings to produce nearly 4 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy for the campus yearly. The solar panels are helping to alleviate the campus' reliance on fossil fuels for energy, mitigating the effects and persistence of climate change and global warming. This can help to promote the sustainability of the university as more clean energy practices are put into use and renewable energy is promoted. The promotion of new energy sources on campus promotes new and cleaner living standards for both the present and future generations. Taking the time to promote sustainable practices and infrastructure creates the necessary change to help educate the public on the importance of making the switch for the health of the planet. Taking the knowledge that we can gain from implementing these strategies and plans, we can pass it along to other campuses and states, and even countries to help promote a more global change.
My first attempt on capturing solar eclipse photograph. Forecast moon coverage of sun is 80% but it appeared to be less at peak time. For this time Indonesia enjoy a full eclipse.
