KK and my CSci 3601 (Software Design and Development) class took a field trip up to the West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC) Horticulture Gardens to see where their project would actually be used. Steve Poppe did most of the tour guiding, with assistance from Esther Jordan.

Problem Halved was created in MEDL Mobile’s App Incubator by Rob Shoesmith, a dustbin man (trash collector) from Coventry, England.

Rob wanted a unique way for people to share their problems with the world.

Problem Halved will allow people from around the globe to give you suggestions to help you solve your problems. You can post a problem or answer a problem – or do both - a problem shared is a problem halved, so don’t go it alone!

A Podcast will be launched to compliment this app shortly after the app is released which will feature celebrity guest appearances.

Download this app now to have people across the world helping you solve your problems! You can read more about the creator of Problem Halved, Rob Shoesmith, at www.robshoesmith.com or follow his journey from Trash Collector to App Creator on Twitter (shoesmith81).

Location: Coventry, England

Rob submitted 37 ideas in the first two weeks the incubator was running. And lots of them were very good. We emailed with Rob to find out where his passions were and what Rob really wanted to do was help other people. Of all his apps, the one closest to his heart and the one he felt had the most power was Problem Halved.

Apparently, he wasn't alone. Problem Halved jumped to the #2 app in the UK for social networking! It's no wonder. People are using it to ask meaningful, profound, personal and interesting questions. And the solutions being offered are just as impressive.
