This idea was submitted by Charlie Saravia, an international traveler living in New York City.

CrashPad was created in MEDL Mobile's App Incubator.

The idea was submitted by Charlie Saravia, an international traveler living in New York City. Charlie thought the iPhone would be a great tool for connecting backpackers and other travelers with people who are willing to let overnight guests crash at their pad for a night or two.

The app allows you to search based on where you are now, or where you are heading. Crashers can also rate pads where they've stayed for others to see.

The app allows you to list your residence, show photos, publish the rules of your home - like bed time, check out time, and so on. Owners of a pad can rate the crashers so that other pads will know what kind of a guest they are.

The app connects both parties and allows them to work out the details.

Please be sure to think about how you are using CrashPad so there aren't any surprises down the line. By using this service, you are taking full responsibility for your own actions.

CrashPad's sole purpose is to bring together people who can help one another out. Any contracts made through Crash Pad are between the host pad and crasher. Crash Pad's sole function is to bring the two parties together, what happens after that is completely out of our hands. Each party is responsible for ensuring the other is reliable and trustworthy. Crash Pad does not control who is using the service, and is not responsible for arraignments made available through the service. An agreement between crasher and pad provider should be made prior to arrival, but Crash Pad is not responsible for upholding the terms of these agreements. In the unlikely event a problem should arise, Crash Pad takes no responsibility for these circumstances. Ratings provided by Crash Pad are the independent opinions of previous users and we take no responsibility for such opinions.

Please review our full Terms and Conditions found within the app itself.

We hope you enjoy using CrashPad and that the app leads to many wonderful friendships and stories. If you have a great CrashPad story, we'd love to hear it. Email them to crashpad@medlmobile.com.

We are proud to call CrashPad a Shiny MEDL Object.
