I am in the middle of a two week road trip around Texas to train users on a new version of software that we are putting in place at work. This afternoon I drove from Lubbock to Amarillo and made a stop in Palo Duro Canyon. Then I drove on into Amarillo and since it was late already, I decided to get some LP in and I drove straight to the famous Cadillac Ranch. The Cadillac Ranch was made famous back in the 70's and became an icon of the even more famous Route 66. The Cadillac Ranch was an art statement made back in those days where 10 Cadillacs were buried front end first into the ground half way so the back half of the car was sticking up out of the ground as you can see in these pictures.
When I arrived there was one other car parked by the road so I knew I would not be alone. I found three young adults among the cars. They were adding to the many years of spray painted graffiti that these cars have accumulated over the past 30 some odd years. They seemed a little surprised when I walked up on them (Understandably so! ;-) ) but I asked them if they would like to help me with some graffiti of a different kind. ;-) I showed them an example of light painting and they were on board with it big time!
SO! These shots are a collaboration with Allysa, Olive, and Trey of Amarillo Texas! I know I had a lot of fun with these and I think they had a blast and a night they will not soon forget! So I am uploading the best shots of the evening for them to get to and show their friends and family. I think a few future light painters were created tonight in the process of it!

This was a literally last minute venture. I saw the skies were clear, it only takes me half hour to walk to Telegrapraph Hill and I didn't care where the sun is setting (I usually plan for some landmark alignment), I just thought I cath a sunset and chill with the plentiful locals on the packed hill top. So it turns out, the sun was setting on White City in West London and right a the end of the video the cheese grater building that the sun envelopes is the Imperial College campus.
This version is a redder sky which was more what I saw In reality, although, no this red, I decided to boost it for a more dramatic effect.

Students in EECS 481 Software Engineering listen to Professor Wes Weimer as he teaches them about communication skills for programers at the George G. Brown Laboratories on the North Campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Weimer referred to the days lecture as “talking about talking,” wherein programers learn to better communicate with customers about what the desired system is and what the customer wants it to be. The lecture was spread out over two days to encompass requirements which articulate the relationship and interface between a desired system and its environment, distinguishing between functional and quality requirements, as well as informal and verifiable requirements. “That’s going to be the challenge for today and Thursday, how to get thoughts out of one person’s head, into another, by talking. It’s harder than it sounds.”

I took this previously unpublished image and ran it through a free hdr program I found on line.
This was out of the camera, in to the software - no 'frame' around it, no adjustments.
There seems to be some control on this free hdr site, but I haven't a clue what the buttons mean! I'm really interested in doing some hdr, but I suspect I'd be happier with good software!
