Apologies for the quality of the audio on this - I've had to bodge this together. I made a slideshow using online software but I couldn't save it in a usable format, so instead I had to play it on the PC screen while filming it on my iphone.
It is somewhat self-indulgent, so apologies for that also, lol.
A collection of pictures from my first emergence, right through up to the end of July this year. Loads of different looks, outfits, places and people. Personally, I can't watch this without being reduced to joyful tears!
The music, 'This Is Me', from The Greatest Showman, is the perfect track and is somewhat of a trans anthem. Rightly so. As the lyrics go:
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies
This is me!
Using Topaz Noise Adjust 6 for the first time.
This shot of a Beach Staggerwing Replica was very noise on the underside of the aircraft. Not a very good capture but a great candidate for the test.
I think she was just dressed up as only a Playboy Bunny. No mash-up with another fandom. I later saw her at one of the vendors' tables where a lot of the cosplay talent was station.
"I'd stop drinking coffee, but I'm no quitter."
This photo in particular required a lot of effort, patience and attempts. It took about 25 espressos extractions, a couple of burns in the hands of our barista, lighting changes, and hours of work until we get this result, which is present in the newly released institutional catalog of Ipanema Coffees.

This was one of the coolest (sorry, forgive the pun) cosplays I saw at Katsucon. Someone mashed up Elsa from Disney's Frozen with Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat.
I kind of gushed on how amazing I thought this cosplayer's idea and execution of her mashup idea went off. She had printed out flexible black snowflakes to wear under her tights which I thought was a great touch.
I used the Elemental Action on her "snowball" and replaced the background with a custom image created in Chaotica Lite.
I honestly have no idea who this cosplayer was/is but damned if I don't want to take more pics of her work down the road.
... stays on Snake Mountain?
I don't remember Skeletor looking so... voluptuous? She cracked me up laughing with her "Castle Greyskull" pasties.

This photo was taken by Brian Koprowski who provided 3 exposures in DNG format as part of an HDR challenge on the CJSmithphotography.com website (I would add the links here but have no idea how to do that, lol).
HDR Details:
I started by uploading the 3 files provided into Photomatix and checking a couple presets to see how the sky and buildings looked. I ended up using two different tone-mapped images (one for the sky/buildings and one for the water and masking them into one another in CS5) My next step was to apply the filters. I'm a big fan of NIK software's Color Efex Pro (currently using version 3.0). All of the filters used were brushed-in and never applied globally. I used "tonal contrast" and "Pro Contrast" to bring out the detail in the buildings, "Glamor Glow" and "Classical Soft Focus" on the water and "Sunshine" on the sky. I also made various adjustments to the highlights and shadows along the way using the burn/dodge tools. I finished it off in Topaz software's DeNoise 5 to remove some of the noise in the sky.
Thanks for letting me participate in this challenge, it was fun! And thanks to Brian for letting us use your images....
I had to carefully aim the MagMod "Grid" modifier (narrows the flash's beam so it is more of a spotlight) as it tends to focus right on the cleavage versus faces when I have the camera in the portrait orientation (up and down).
I used the Sony α7iii .ARW or raw setting for image capture.

I have to admire this lady's dedication. That had to be either a heavy or incredibly awkward prop to move around in.

Linking Marina Bay to Marina Centre, the Helix Bridge, with its curved design is created by two opposing spiral steel members, held together by a series of connecting struts, symbolising “life and continuity”, “renewal”, “everlasting abundance” and “growth”, and resembles the structure of DNA.

The castle was built over several centuries. Founded in the 1120s around a powerful Norman great tower, the castle was significantly enlarged by King John at the beginning of the 13th century. Huge water defences were created by damming the local streams, and the resulting fortifications proved able to withstand assaults by land and water in 1266. John of Gaunt spent lavishly in the late 14th century, turning the medieval castle into a palace fortress designed in the latest perpendicular style. The Earl of Leicester then expanded the castle during his tenure in the 16th century, constructing new Tudor buildings and exploiting the medieval heritage of Kenilworth to produce a fashionable Renaissance palace.

Last of my "Zoo" set of pictures.
This is what I don't like about zoos. Although I like the idea behind this particular place (only animals that have been left alone, capture in customs or dodgy trading etc) I fell like it is not right.
Unfortunately we, as a society, are completely devastating our world. I am not going to list all the reason, but you know pretty much all of them. The funny thing is zoos have became the only place you will end up seeing certain species. Most in the zoo are almost instinct. So, what to do? Difficult. Really difficult specially when people are only thinking about "have" instead of "be".
Anyway...
I had the opportunity to see Sebastiao Salgado pictures from his last book called Genesis and also to listen to his speech in Porto Alegre, where I am living right not. It is breathtaking. You feel like your in a complete state of pureness listening to him and you do realize there is still hope, but it is upon us. Even small things can help a better world. So, just do it!

Sand dunes at Mindil Beach, Northern Territory. The sun is just setting to the left over the dunes creating some highlights and shadows. The Timor Sea is in the background and it is about 45 minutes before sunset. Taken with an IR converted camera plus some manipulation with my favourite software, CaptureNX 2.

Just a random capture from my archives showing this empty frigid beach in Pennsylvania back in March. I have plenty of unprocessed photos in my archives so I need to unload some. Maybe this will cool some of you of whoever is exposed to heat right now. I was debating whether to do this in black and white or color but I think I managed to get the colors out of this to pass my rigorous criteria.
I just corrected the color a little I think I made it too dull looking after looking at it I knew I messed. I corrected my exposure. So I hope this is a little better scene and I came up with a different version that I will upload in a minute. Lack of software and glitches here in the office prevented me from achieving my goal :(
Have a blessed day everyone!

not sure what to make of these, created using free online software on tiltshiftmaker.com - model like appearance?
All those that remember "2nd frame blur" from those dark & distant days of using film can dig out those shots from the bin and post them as tilt shift pics !
An interesting spin on a Green Lantern. Reminds me of the DC character "Jack O'Lantern" (Global Guardians).
I added in the PS Elemental Action on to his ring and "power battery/lantern" (said it was some kind of hanging art/tchotchke from Turkey he had at home) and darkened his face paint ("satin" setting on a layers adjustment)
