Tricolour Smoothie - spectacular and delicious.
Top - banana and peanut butter
Middle - Blueberries and lemon juice
Bottom - kiwi and milled linseed
Healthy ingredients and counts towards your 5 a day!
If the layers are too juicy, strain and freeze for a few minutes until stiff before adding to the glass.
I should have topped it off with a spoonful of creme fraiche!
While it was windy today, I have decided to make some mixed-fruit smoothies and enjoy them outdoor in our backyard. I was thinking this Summer had gone by so quickly. I felt like I haven't done anything.

We made a MESS (a much bigger mess than is apparent) of our kitchen last night, but had a lot of fun doing it :)

The refracted light from a prism in my kitchen window fortuitously struck my morning smoothie and luckily I had my iPhone handy.
A smoothie made with banana, apple, peaches and passion fruit all poured into a miniature retro milk bottle. I made it with proper greek yoghurt and used a bit of acacia honey to take the edge off of the fruits sharpness. Lit with a big window light to camera left and a large black sided paper sheet to camera right. All in all I like how the photo has come out and, even better, I like the smoothie, it was really tasty and quite refreshing as a morning pick me up. As usual comments and thoughts are welcome.

for the Collective 52 Week Project - begins with 'S'.
I've been busy lately. Too busy to play or think straight..not that my thinking is normally straight to begin with but you get what I mean. And I haven't been a good flickr friend at all. Unfortunately that won't change for a couple of weeks yet.
But in about a week I'll be on vacation. Work and some other things will be behind me and I'll be able to relax for a change...and play :) To go along with that I've begun playing a bit and came up with my new favorite drink that I'll be enjoying lots of while on vacation.
I call this my Watermelon Surprise Smoothie. Now, I know some of you are thinking it's pink and not very manly and I have to admit that's true. But I love this for its simplicity. You take a watermelon and cut it into chunks, fill a blender with some of those chunks and puree them. Then dump in a bunch of ice in and puree it all together. The kids can have that version...for adults you add some tequila (the surprise part of the drink).
I'm not a big fan of sweet anything, especially beverages. No sodas for me, thanks. This drink has no added sweeteners or anything like that and it's ice cold for those hot Summer days. And it's watermelon, not too sweet..just right. The top is foam of watermelon goodness..if you like that sort of thing.
But if you do add the tequila watch out, this could be one dangerous refreshing beverage..pink or not. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeYsTmIzjkw
