Little plastic clip with smiley face on edge consisting of a flap on a plastic binder
When I saw the binder I thought it was beautiful and decided to use it. Almost all things have an edge, it is difficult to come up with something different
Festival season is almost here...
There isn't many more striking hair styles than this. Thanks to this guy for allowing me to capture the look.

I was invited to go on a hot air balloon ride in San Martin, California, located south of the San Francisco Bay Area. A friend who could not join called me the day before, and offered me to go instead. What a pleasant surprise! It was the first time for me. Just as the the sun came up the pilot started the burners to fully inflate the envelope. One person pulled on a rope to keep the envelope properly aligned.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

This is one of my favorite ornaments and, because of that I find a reason to take a picture of it every year. This year is for the vibrant theme.
Happy eggs, smiling at me. A nice thing to see first thing in the morning when I reach for breakfast.
I hard boil a bunch of eggs and then return them to the carton and take one or two each day on the run. I made the mistake one day of bringing a raw, uncooked egg with me to work. That was unpleasant. :(
So now I draw little happy faces on all the ones that are hard boiled. :)
That way I don't make the same mistake again.
Sorry I've been scarcely here. Work all day, school all night, and broken home computer = very hard to get on Flickr very much. I will catch up with everyone when I can, I miss you all!
P.S. this was taken with my cameraphone, which explains the poor quality.
After the sun had been smothered by the clouds I made a cautious way back towards the car. I wanted to take a photo that included some of the corrugated rock floor that is scattered around this location. It was only when I processed the shot that I saw the smiley face in the rocks...
It was such a please to meet Mo on an awesome Sunday afternoon just of Brick Lane.
He was chilling on one of the side streets and was about to get a tattoo of a smiley face.
He was here for the weekend for London Pride but he was visiting from Switzerland. He had a really enjoyable time in London.
Mo kindly agreed to the portrait when I approached him and we came away with 3 different shots and this head on was easily my favourite.
Thank you Mo for sharing a bit of your time with me yesterday. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the

The joy of the random find is so much more exciting than having to look for it. But looking for something with intention also has its value, because it makes you look at things differently...

Macro Mondays 'pareidolia' theme. I had a few shots for this week but went with this smiley face as my final choice.
This little face is on the bottom of a colour change Mathmos lamp, the part of the lamp base showing measures 5 cm across at the widest point.

Franconia Sculpture Park. This is part of a much bigger sculpture which I may or may not post later. I love that this place changes every year. Do you see the face?
An artist gets comfortable on the concrete as she chalk "paints" an African crowned crane at the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival at Mission Santa Barbara over the Memorial Day weekend. Note the smiley face on her jeans. :-)
