The weather was gorgeous so I took my parents for a walk on a nature trail today.

No one knows the joys of smelly more than a dog. They revel in it! And this is such a great place to find those smells.

This is going to be a fantastic day. It's so sunny and warm and everywhere smells so fragrant. Already we saw lots of apples and rosehips and blackthorn on the path up the hill. The views are amazing too. Just look behind us - that's Aberystwyth town in the background. We're right on the edge of a hilltop.

The apples are perfect for Rosh Hashanah. We can hear bees too, which means honey. We dip apple slices in honey to hope for a sweet new year. And our sweet new year has begun. I can feel it as I feel the sun on my fur. As sweet as the scent of apples and gorse and oak around us.

A mongoose lemur, on Lemur Island, takes a good whiff of a flower that the keepers left for them.

Lemurs cannot swim, so they live on an island in a pond, allowing them to move around freely. Zookeepers take a small paddle boat to visit and care for them.

She seemed to like the left side of the trail for some reason, maybe the smells coming from that side were better today! We weren't out very long, it started to rain shortly after we started our walk.
