On Monday, November 10, 2014, the Jacksonville community gathered to welcome home Marine Sgt. Ben Tomlinson, recipient of a "Building for America's Bravest" smart home. The home will allow Sgt. Tomlinson to live independently for the first time since he was severely injured in action in Afghanistan. The effort to build a home for him was spearheaded by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation, with the help of many generous national and local donors. Jacksonville State University was a partner in the endeavor. Sgt. Tomlinson's home is revealed.

Adam Somlai-Fischer from Budapest (Hungary) is the inventor of Prezi. Adam is originally a media artist and architect. He made his first zooming interface in 2001. Adam spent the last decade creating innovative technologies and artistic projects which facilitate the creativity of others - ranging from mixed reality interfaces and DIY smarthomes to institutions and workshop methods for innovation. His (collaborative) works have been exhibited at Venice Biennale and dozens of festivals globally and published in leading magazines and blogs.
