Taken at the Singapore Science Museum. It's this little device with a knob at the bottom that makes water flow backwards and forwards in slow motion.

We had a fire to burn up some of our landscaping that needed severe trimming and the embers from it were mesmerizing.
This photo was taken last weekend in Dingle at a currach race where crews from all over Ireland came to compete in a rowing event in a currach, which is a traditional wooden rowing boat.
Just a bit of fun really. The sound of a juvenile buzzard calling from the trees in slow motion sounded really weird, like someone shouting out in pain lol! Shame I couldn't see it as well as hear it.
Here's a behind the scenes look at my hummingbird slow mo video setup. I did a bunch of variations on this to get different angles and every time I changed it the hummingbirds wound act suspicious for awhile and then get used to it and relax.
I feel a bit bad this photo itself isn't more photogenic, but it does show the setup. I'll try to take some prettier behind the scenes shots next time ;-)
Yes, this is very blurred but I wanted to explore a more artistic rendition of the bald eagle in flight... don't worry all my gear is still working fine. The good thing is you do not have to spend any time trying to sharpen those images... no matter what you do, that is not going to work :)
Using GoPro at 120 fps in superview (2.7K resolution), I stacked only lightning that did not blowout any structure. When these cloud-to-ground strikes reach the ground, for a brief millisecond, the entire frame floods out any finer details.

First attempt with slow shutter speed with new camera. Had a ND lens for my old camera but nothing fits this camera. Still trying new techniques. Any Ideas?

I was so fortunate to have the gulls fly and dance for me when I was at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal in North Yorkshire. The light was ideal. If the rain stops again before I leave Yorkshire, I'll go back for some more!
The rain core from this thunderstorm provided the perfect pathway for lightning to reach the ground. Once the bolt did reach the ground, all the step leaders (branching) were no longer needed and the bolt became a singularity (mostly a smooth structure).
Taken with a GoPro 11 in slow motion mode. The lightning was between 2 and 3 miles away. The last of these 5 clips were repeated by slowing it down even more.

I didn't shoot a lot of video at NYBG, but this montage has the best bits I got of feeding hummingbirds.
Never get your mattress delivered during a severe thunderstorm.
Capturing daylight lightning is difficult and especially so in slow motion. I managed to capture a wind turbine hit and what appeared as "BALL LIGHTNING"! It was probably a transformer exploding or something like that.
Anyway, the quality isn't great but I thought interesting enough to upload. Comments are welcomed.
Used my iPhone 11 @ 240fps. Strikes were about 12 to 15 miles to my south.
(no pun intended :P )
The past few days I've pretty much been hanging by the pool nonstop, so here's just something I managed to capture. There's no shortage of splash bokeh with my brothers around. ;)
I was in my blind videoing a bird bathing when I heard the loud complaint of a Great Egret as a second bird chased him from his hunting spot. We have exactly one Egret that stays here each winter, but occasionally a second bird will arrive, and there is always a territorial dispute. I only caught his landing, but thought it was so graceful in slow-motion that it was worth sharing.
A hummingbird at normal speed and then slowed down to 8x slow motion (recorded at 240 fps and played back at 30 fps). Shot on iPhone 6s. Turn on the sound to hear it's wings humming and then slowing down to individual beats!
Still not doing much photography this year, compared to last year. Today I went to Blaise, the usual place, where I live in Bristol, England. 23/107/10
Tomorrow Sat 24/07/10: A local photography competition, the same one I entered this time last year, with "Tea Spplash B&W" won, (see www.flickr.com/lukeas09/ for 2009 Photostream.)
August 1-3rd: A few days in London, where hopefully I get loads of photos, enough to make a set for this stream, "London 2010".
Thanks for the comments, views and favs, etc. on this photostream.
:)
I reloaded this clip to focus on perhaps a very rare phenomena.
For those who avoid watching videos / time lapse, you may want to view this one.
The bright glow near the lightning strike is what????
I slowed the 240fps by 2x to slow the action even more.
Feedback is appreciated.

Anyone for White Water Rafting..!!...Climb down, the crew carry the boats, split into small groups, 6 to a boat, Three rafts are upside down within minutes. I got trapped under the bloody thing...people hurt on rocks....no way out...5 hours later and 35kms down river you climb back up the canyon wall, some 350 meters.... legs like jelly and feeling like you,ve been in a washing machine !!!!!! AWESOME experience.
