Full resolution frame from 200FPS "Smooth Slow Record" footage from a Sony HD CCD camera.
Featuring butterflies and leaves and flowers and sky.
........playing with 120 fps video option on Panasonic FZ200 (on tripod)......through somewhat dirty window in February.........the quality here is reduced quite a bit also because I decreased the file size (from 124 Mb to 8 Mb) and converted it for faster uploading on my relatively slow connection..........but the 120 fps option has some potential I guess.........for playing with:-)
.........and for me at least videos never seem to play back very well from the Flickr interface anyway.......
........no audio recorded at 120fps......

A video of a 'common swift', (Apus apus) in slow motion. These birds have been recorded at just over 69mph in level flight, making them the fastest flying birds on earth.
Just a couple of fun Feb. 2022 photos and short slow motion movies of Ring Billed Gulls flying in a snow storm as they circle above Devola Ohio Lock and dam #2. The spillway judging from the number of gulls present must be an excellent place to spot and catch small shad fish in the river. I did also see a few Eagles there as well but unfortunately didn't get pics of any flying in the snow
I have always loved the strange world of reversed time, but the reversal of the previous droplet movie looks particularly startling. I love the way the the energy of the waves focuses to create the large stationary droplets. The laws of physics on the macro scale are time reversal symmetric so if you could prepare a series of inward propagating waves (say with an oscillating wall), you could create such droplet creation events. Of course the accuracy required to produce a series of such events would be nearly impossible to produce. Still it would be interesting to try...

First test with the new Casio Exilim ZR-100 camera, using the setting that toggles between 30 fps and 240 fps.
I also shot at 480 fps and 1,000 fps, but the image is terrible. You need a ton more light than I had available and it's apparently inherently degraded. That's a bummer, as I was hoping to get some cool shots of hummingbirds at 1k.
That said, this is cool and something I'll be using.

My dad and I worked on this together. We were trying to capture pictures of milk but it did not show up good... so we tried wine instead. My dad dripped the wine and I took to pictures.

The Photron Fastcam BC2-HD provides beautiful 12-bit imagery at full high definition resolution (1,920 x 1,080) to two thousand frames per second (fps), or full native resolution images at 4M pixel at 1,000 fps. The BC2-HD is the first high speed camera really suited to both sports broadcast as well as commercials and studio work.
