Wood Warbler - Phylloscopus sibilatrix
The wood warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) is a common and widespread leaf warbler which breeds throughout northern and temperate Europe, and just into the extreme west of Asia in the southern Ural Mountains.
This warbler is strongly migratory and the entire population winters in tropical Africa.
It is a summer visitor to the United Kingdom, seen from April until August. It has declined there in recent years. It is now very rare in Ireland, where only one or two pairs are recorded breeding in most years, usually in County Wicklow.
Various factors associated with forest structure, including slope, forest cover, proportion of broad-leaf forest, canopy height and forest edge length, all influenced the occupancy rates of this declining forest species. Conservation measures are therefore required that provide and maintain the wood warblers preferred forest structure. There is also a preference for forest in the non-breeding season, however this habitat is declining in wintering areas such as Ghana. Despite the decline in forest habitats, there has been no change in number of wood warblers as it appears that this species can use degraded habitats, such as well-wooded farms. However, further loss of trees will likely have a negative impact on this species in the future
I have been outside gardening in Ct - which is a very different experience than gardening in Ca! - and not shooting birds so I'm going back...way back in my archives!
I thought this was interesting in that it was taken in similar conditions and was shot with the same camera body I use now, the 1dx, and the earlier version of the 100-400 in comparison with the new 100-400 in the previous post
Hoping all are well and enjoying the spring arrivals...birds, plants, etc!

Aglaiocercus kingi (Long-tailed Sylph / Cometa verdiazul)
Sylphs (Aglaiocercus) are short-billed, long-tailed hummingbirds of humid montane forests of the Andes. The Long-tailed Sylph is the most widespread member of the genus, and occurs from Venezuela south to Bolivia.
This is the only species of sylph on the east slopes of the Andes. In Colombia and Ecuador, it also is found on the western slopes of the Andes. This species forages at all heights in the forest, and at forest edge.

Another slide restoration taken in Cornwall August 1996, and the image really does live up to the place name.

The Liskamm mountain, left of center in the background of this capture, is 50m higher than the legendary Matterhorn and has a long ridge.
The mountain is nicknamed the "Man-eater" because in former days, many climbers fell off from its snow slopes and died.

Chiesa Millenaria.....

Millenian Church...... Is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture of the Ligurian Riviera.
Ancient origins, in the twelfth century was used as a parish church in an area that included the whole slope of Rapallo and Recco. Its decline began already in the '400, in the' 600 was abandoned in 1800 and was used as nothing less than a barn. After the restoration of the early twentieth century, the splendid "millennial" is 'still there' .. beautiful, in the silence of prayer ... and in the name of the Father ...
“The Quebec College of Physicians & Surgeons proposed to extend Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) to infants born with disabilities up to one year old!”
First they dehumanize the unborn and kill them, then they come after the born. The Nazi’s started with the disabled too.

Ezekiel 32:5-6 “I will strew your flesh upon the mountains and fill the valleys with your carcass. I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains, and the ravines will be filled with your flesh.”
If you're experiencing a slope, it can be all around you, but your path can be flat, if you choose the right way. Actually, going up or down can be good as well. You take any path you want. That's the right way!
Not a great photo but the first Pac-slope sighting of the fall.
