Birmingham Flickr Meet 10th February 2008. Petri TTL adapted to use as slitscan camera, with Paragon 24mm lens. Agfa APX400 in Caffenol-C.
digital slitscan of blue flowers . This image was taken by slowly panning across the flowers with my iphone in video mode (hand held) . I then took the short clip and converted it to individual images (the video is 30 frames (still images) per second) so for a 30 second clip, I get 900 images . I then used a photo program (paint shop pro, not photoshop) to select a one pixel row out of each image and save them (this was done as a batch process) . Then using a program called ImageMagick, I stitched the 900 one pixel wide images into one complete image . ImageMagick works at the command prompt level on windows . The reason I use paint shop pro instead of photoshop is that I know how to easily do this batch process in PSP . I'm sure photoshop can do it as well, and when I figure out how to use photoshop for this process, I will switch.

Photograph taken using my mobile phone which has a simple shutter. The effect of the slowly moving train makes the resulting image slant, similar to Lartigue's famous photo of the racing car.
...bien que la chose représentée eût une valeur esthétique, elle trouvait que la vulgarité, l'utilité reprenaient trop vite leur place dans le mode mécanique de représentation, la photographie.
[...for all that the subject of the picture had an aesthetic value of its own, she should find that vulgarity and utility had too prominent a part in them, through the mechanical nature of their reproduction by photography.]

Ladypool Road, Sparkbrook, Birmingham. 25th May 2009. Foma Fomapan400 in Ilfosol-3 1+9 15minutes (giving, I estimate ISO800).
This is the perfect candid camera. It does not look like one is taking a picture when all one is doing is waving a camera in front of someone.

Fixed scan, trying to keep slit locked on rabbit's eye as he ate. Not at all accurate, of course. Would be interesting to film rabbit to do the slitscan manually.
