The Hope Slide was a landslide that occurred in the morning hours of January 9, 1965 in the Nicolum Valley in the Cascade Mountains near Hope, British Columbia and killed four people. The volume of rock involved in the landslide has been estimated at 47 million cubic metres. It is the second largest recorded landslide in Canada.
"Walking to Work", , ,Another old slide from 1969. . .Shot at St. Louis-Lambert Airport. American Airlines began changing its "orange stripe" paint scheme in 1968. They continued to use the name "Astrojet" for a while until 1970 when they began naming their first 747's "Astroliners". In 1971 the new branding became "Luxury Liners" which lasted until around 1999. Like many of my old slides, this one was in pretty bad shape. But I liked the two pilots strolling to their waiting plane so I did some "effects" work on it to give it a little life after 54 years.

Happy Sliders Sunday! A bouquet of flowers with a cross stitch picture casting a watchful eye. (Mr T completed the cross stich some years ago.)
Same early winter storm settled in over Slide Lake in Wyoming just on the east side of the Grand Teton Ntl Park boundary.
I shot this at the Lake Afton Grand Prix, an SCCA sanctioned race in 1974. This slide, like so many of the shots I took during the race, was a much wider image and not very sharply focused. So, it's ended up as another "project" slide. I have to keep reminding myself that these slides were shot 48 years ago and I didn't have the lenses you really need to get great shots of a race like this. But after some tweaking. . .Not too bad for almost half a century ago!

A burst of color for a gloomy grey day. Good things are right around the corner. (Right? There has to be something good coming .... soon.... I hope!)
Happy Sliders Sunday Sunset!
This is the Orangery, the function room at the botanical garden. It was dark inside on this opening night of the Holiday Lights, and made a dramatic statement beside the multi colored lights throughout the rest of the garden.

The Slider function is built into the floor, and moves the bookcase and a candelabra by pulling the tab on the left edge of the display.
There are individual pictures in the Album folder.
The rising sun can be seen burning off the early morning fog on the banks of our Thames River. Extreme combinations of hue & saturation sliders were used to tint the fog leaving the crest of the sun to highlight the subject, the infamous crow!
