Upper Slaughter, Gloucestershire. The village has remained utterly unchanged for more than a century with no building work taking place at all since 1906 when the cottages (above) around the square were reconstructed by the famous architect Sir Edward Lutyens.

So my friend's dad slaughtered a lamb in the garage and gave the heart to Greg.... awesome.
The village of Upper Slaughter in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds is one mile away from Lower Slaughter and resides on a gentle grassy slope above the stream that connects the two villages.
Once the village was dominated by a Norman castle but all that can be seen of it today are the remains of the motte and bailey.
The building that dominates Upper Slaughter is the beautiful gabled Manor House which is one of the finest buildings in the area. The oldest part of the house dates from the 15th century but the front is Elizabethan. The Manor is now a hotel.
We visited Slaughter Pen Farm yesterday.

Had a bash at cloning out, spot healing and generally trying to learn new stuff, don't know how to post over an older version...so this is the newer one!
Old Mill at Lower Slaughter, near Bourton-on-the-Water. Slaughter is derived from a Saxon name meaning 'Muddy Water', which isn't the case now!

This visceral image offers up a slice of the gruesomely beautiful spaces that can be inhabited in Walking Dead. Setting the scene is key in all forms of escapism and this image reflects a commitment to doing just that. The low angle shot presents the scene as a daunting view; with the sharpness of the composition softened only by a haze of light filtering through the boarded panels. There is indeed a sense of place presented in this image.
