I was unable to resist this nicely illustrated van from a San Francisco brewery, which I saw parked at the market, so I took a quick shot.

Here's wishing you a very happy Christmas and a prosperous, peaceful and healthy 2018.
Thanks also to everyone who has visited my photostream, and to those kind souls who have taken the trouble to comment. Always very much appreciated.
Take care, and have a good, well-deserved break. Very best wishes from my partner Liang and me.

This trio of authentic Kamikoto professional knives was my sweetie's way of spoiling me this holiday season. These beauties are going to require me to step up my cooking game for sure. : ))
This was the first shot taken with a new set of studio strobes and it turned out to be quite the adventure for I normally only shoot by available light. Without naming brands I'll confess that it took me three hours to get the #&^%#*@(#& remote flash triggers to get in proper synch with the flash. Another case of what doesn't kill you makes you stronger !
And if I've missed you earlier, here's wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ! Slainte !

JUMP! theme for Me Again Monday
Seeing as it's nearly Paddy's Day I went for the stereotypical click your heels together mid air 'top of the mornin' to ya!' leipreachán leap! {^_^} & wearing green...surrounded by green.
This year for the day of green & all things Irish I will be doing a Lomography workshop with the SF Lomo store taking snaps of the parade which I am looking forward to. I really don't get into the whole 'celebration' thing tbh as I like to be 'proud to be Irish' low key...although I did buy a cute shamrock hair accessory which is a first for me
\{^_~}/
Happy Me Again Monday!
Imelda May live on Jools Holland Sticking with the Irish theme.. the hottest thing to come out of Ireland the past few years and someone I have seen play live so I can say that she is and her band are feckin brilliant! HSM!

While this bit of good advice adorns a wall at Mike's American Grill, I think it should be nailed to the front door of the world...and the sooner the better. Slainte !
Tried something new in converting this shot to B&W. After making the basic conversion in LR6, I fired up Color Efex Pro's Tonal Contrast filter, setting Highlight, Midtones, and Shadows to 100% each. Brought that file back into LR6 and used the Contrast slider to very slightly reduce the effect of the previous step. I hope you enjoy the outcome. Slainte !
And many thanks to all who visited, commented, or awarded this shot ! Your kindness is truly appreciated !

Taken at the Guinness factory in Dublin...Not the best shot, but I was having sensory overload....in SO many ways, lol. Let me just say, I'm normally ok with Guinness but it was AMAZING and buttery and SO MUCH better at their brewery. Normally i wait for the head to go down, but here I wanted to inhale and bathe in it and drink it by the gallons. Just wow. Besides, you cant beat a shamrock in your foam... HBW
Boneshaker is a tasty IPA by Toronto’s Amsterdam Brewery.
I enjoyed it at the Rex Jazz & Blues Bar and at the Black Bull Tavern, among other watering holes...
I eventually finished my 33rd year piece!!!
Yes it took a while ............in fact it took 47 years to get here.
This is inspired by one of my favourite pieces of fiction H.G. Wells - The Time Machine, I rough sketched the basics for the Z seven years ago on a scrap of paper and it was filed for later use as do a lot of my ideas. In 2015 We decided to do a wall that reflects the history of the writing scene in the North East. So it seemed fitting to use the idea for the wall.
We are all time machines that pass along the so called timeline never stopping. This piece is about the never ending changes that we go through as we pass through time in our collective atoms that we call our bodies. NOTHING is set forever, the yesterdays we endure get us to our todays and these todays guide ourselves for the tomorrows we hope to face. The journey across time is made all the better for the other collections of atoms we meet on the way before the universe calls all the atoms back for recycling which life has taught me can happen at any time.
So this piece is dedicated to ALL OF YOU every line and every colour.... Make the most of your time here on the planet every second counts in this form. For everyone I have met in the past, the ones I see everyday and the ones I have yet to meet.
Much love and all The best for 2017

That’s the Gaelic for ‘Good Health!’, and what more appropriate caption could there be for this image of my whisky dram glass, as my posting for the challenge for Saturday 28th May on the theme of glass?
This glass - which I reserve solely for my occasional dram of malt whisky - bears on it the crest of the Fraser clan, of which by a tortuous path down a branch of the family tree I find myself a distant part of. The crest bears the Clan motto ‘Je Suis Prest”, which has nothing to do with sandwich bars but is old French for ‘I am ready!’, but ready for what it doesn’t say.
My dear Flickr-Friends,
the weather over here is quite ugly and because I think I won´t be uploading anything else this year, I decided to go with an old shot I made about two years ago.
I visited Scotland with one of my best friends as we both are big whisky fans. This shot shows some used barrels at the Ardbeg distillery on Islay, Scotland.
The shot was taken with the camera that started photography for me, a Fuji S6500fd.
It was quite a journey from there to now with my Nikon D700, but as they say: Every journey starts with the first step.
I have to thank all of you for your honest comments in the past two years of photography, I hope many more will follow.
I wish you all a Happy New Year and all the best for 2010!
Slàinte
Percy
P.S.: Having shot this with "only" a bridge camera gives me a very good excuse to re-visit Scotland with my actual gear!
While enjoying a local Hefe Weizen on a sidewalk in San Luis Obispo, I took a quick shot at the temporary umbrellas, stringed lights and outdoor heaters necessitated by the ban on indoor gathering during the pandemic, and at the buildings reflected in the windows...
Though I had visited “3 Brasseurs” brewpubs before, in Montréal and in Québec City, I had never seen this distribution system, larger than a pitcher. They call it a Triton and it holds 5 liters (i.e. a generous 2½ pints for each of the people at the table).
Totally looks like I'm enjoying the view and pissing hahaha I can't claim taking this photo, obviously. I'll tell ya'll about that night in a few days ;) But this is my most favorite (proper spelling) view of Miami! The location itself is just wonderful too. But the view is just wow inspiring, I could chill for hours. It's also where my bike got stolen last year haha so there's a little piece of me here. Man the stories I could tell ya'll . .
I'm so excited cause tomorrow is Saint Patrick's Day!!! 'Nuff said, ya'll won't be hearing much out of me tomorrow x)
By the way, slainte is Gaelic for health, cheers, good luck.
Have a wonderful day!! And cheers!!
If you're feeling a little bit down right now, and you're anxious and isolated, let this photo of the sun rising over Ireland's ancient Hill of Tara warm the cockles of your heart. I hope that it brings you some joy, and warmth, and contentment. Wherever you are in the world right now, be safe and healthy. And remember, after the night is over the daylight comes. Let the light of Tara shine into your heart this weekend. 🌞🍀💚

Sláinte (pronounced “slawn-che”) means health in Irish and Scottish Gaelic. It is commonly used as a drinking toast in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.
