cleaning up, finding things.
this visualization dates back to the year 2003 and is based on a data set extracted from an open letter regarding steve dietz' dismissal from the walker art center www.mteww.com/walker_letter/index.shtml - 689 people undersigned the letter. 450 names out of this list have been used to estimate the weight of connectedness between each other based on the amount of google searches results. a perl skript, written by lisa jevbratt, did perform the required google search queries and extracted the results for each. approximately 200000 searches were performed in 2 days. data was stored in a mysql database. at the outside of the graph you see people with very strong connectedness, this gets less when moving towards the center.

Wer zukünftig Comics verfassen möchte - und dies ganz allein (!) - ladet sich eine Menge Arbeit auf!
Die Entwicklung eines Comics ist ähnlich wie beim Film:
Skript (Drehbuch) - Rohskizzen (Storyboard) - Reinzeichnung (Dreharbeiten)
und das sog. "Lettering" - der Text, die Sprechblasen (Dialoge).
Es gibt ganze Teams die Comics verfassen. Einer verfaßt den Text (Skript), der nächste macht nur Skizzen, wieder ein Anderer ist für die "Reinzeichnung" zuständig, schließlich gibt es jemanden der ausschließlich koloriert und ganz am Schluß fügt noch jemand den Text (die Sprechblasen) hinzu. -
Dieses beispielhafte Team hier bestünde aus fünf Personen!
Diese ganzen Arbeitsgänge mache ich zukünftig allein - hinzukommt, daß ich meine Comics in zwei Versionen veröffentlichen möchte: Deutsch UND English!
Da ist man dann sehr froh, wenn man eine kleine "Comic-Software" entdeckt, welche wenigstens das "Lettering" (Sprechblasen) und auch das "Layout" sehr erleichtert und hier ist ein kleiner Test.
Ich habe dafür vorhandene Zeichnungen von Bobbel Boy & Bobbeline verwendet...

Who is going to create a comic - all alone (!) - has a load of work to do!
Creating a comic is similar to a movie:
Script (screenplay) - the roughs (storyboard) - fine-drawing, outlines ("shooting") - and the so called "lettering", speech ballons (dialogs).
There are whole teams which are creating a comic.
Any writes the script, the next is just doing the roughs, another one makes the fine-drawings, finally there is one person who is just responsible for the coloration and last but not least there is a person which is just doing the "lettering".
That means I'm doing all this work alone which is sometimes done by a team of five persons! ;-)
Because of that I'm glad to have found a little "comic-software" which eases the "lettering" and the "layout", especially because I like to publish two versions later: German AND English!
Here's a little test, I used sketches of Bobbel Boy & Bobbeline which I had already at hand...
