I painted this during a trip home to Indiana to visit my family. My Mom had a jar of Necco candy hearts left over from Valentine's Day and some cool new place mats. I thought they went together rather nicely :)
And, the marker I used was my Mom's - it worked great!
I tried something new to see how it would work! I printed this image from www.tiffanydoodles.com on 140lb watercolor paper from the single feed slot on the back of my printer. I wanted to see if the ink would run when i applied water. The ink did not run, but my pigment wanted to bleed along the lines. This technique worked much better when i brought the opacity down to 5%, which was basically like a blank sheet of paper, which gives you a look from scratch bc no one can see the lines when your done. You can always go over with your waterproof pen. I will do a full post on this soon, join our "Distress Ink for Watercolor" facebook group.
just do a fb search for page name. I colored this with only Distress Ink. M&m's optional! 😄 You can get this image from my Doodle store at www.tiffanydoodles.com/Prickly-Pear-Digital-Stamp-p/prick...

I have been thinking about possibly making some of my sketches into little badges. Here are what they might look like. What do you think?
The Mummy is a 1932 horror film starring Boris Karloff, Zita Johann, David Manners, Edward Van Sloan and Arthur Byron.
The film is about an ancient Egyptian mummy named Imhotep who is discovered by a team of archeologist and inadvertently brought back to life through a magic scroll. Disguised as a modern Egyptian, the mummy searches for his lost love, whom he believes has been reincarnated into a modern girl.
True black and white graphic created from scratch and recolored. Added to create something with a period feel, with my original art.
