A huge thistle plant is growing beside one of our dogpens, and just began flowering a few days ago. I have never seen a thistle like this, nor do I know how it got to be by the dogpen (probably the birds planted it there). Anyway, both the plant and the blooms are much bigger than any thistle I've ever seen before.
