I thought that a dog looking into a pond and seeing fish and his reflection would be suitable for this week's theme. The water is a mirror with transparent photographic images of fish, rocks, weeds and ripples printed onto it.

Grade: eggs are graded according to their interior characteristics, not by size, how they taste, or react when cooked. Grade is determined during the "candling" process, which I described in the last installment of the series. Grades AA or A (the most common) have tall yolks and thick whites that don't spread much. However, Grade A whites are not as thick as Grade AA. Grade B eggs (which are commonly used in food service or commercially) have flatter yolks and thinner whites than Grade AA or A.
Size: the three most common egg sizes are medium, large, and extra large. Most recipes are based on the use of large eggs. When using up to three eggs, these sizes are interchangeable. But if a recipe calls for four or more eggs, use a conversion chart found in most good cookbooks. Examples are as follows...
4 large eggs = 4 extra large, or = 5 medium eggs
5 large eggs = 4 extra large, or = 6 medium eggs
6 large eggs = 5 extra large, or = 7 medium eggs
So if you ever cooked something using eggs and wonder why it didn't turn out just right it might be because you didn't use "large" eggs or adjusted the recipe accordingly based on the size eggs you did use.

I was just trying to figure out how to illustrate the unusual size of this beast that I had run across in the neighborhood, when someone came and parked his Volkswagen van (which is quite a large vehicle, at least for European standards) just between it and a Fiat Punto. Note that the Volkswagen’s overall height barely exceeds the pickup walls.
