Went pass this intersection and it just caught my eye... I'm still looking at it and can't tell if it's only because of the yellow trees or because it was just pretty symmetrical, but I like what came out (well, obviously after a bunch of attempts and a taxi that decided to sit right in front of me for 10 long minutes).

Sits on the top of the tallest trees and palms, an insect aerial feeder, most active dawn and dusk, a joy to find, and one of my favorite birds.

Buddy was so happy being outside today. He even caught an Eastern Fence Lizard. After being tossed around
for a bit it escaped.
The Scallop sits on the beach at Aldeburgh, in Suffolk. It's a 4 metre high monument by local born artist Maggi Hambling to the late Benjamin Britten, composer and past Aldeburgh resident, who used to take his afternoon walks along the beach. The sculpture consists of two broken interlocking scallop shells. Cut into the rim of the upright shell are the words “I hear those voices that will not be drowned” from Britten’s opera Peter Grimes. The Scallop was installed in 2003.
This vintage Catapiller sits on display at the Guy Goodwin Education Center in Carrizo Plain national Monument, San Luis Obispo County, California. Cattle were brought to the grasslands of the Carrizo Plain by the early 1850s. The next big change came when dryland grain farmers started homesteading in the valley. Eventually vast amounts of the grassland was put to the plow. The farm work was orignally all done with horse drawn euipment but eventually tractors like this one did the heavy work. The Carrizo Plain gets only 8 to 10 inches of rainfall a year on average but the amount during any given year can be highly unpredictable. The risk of crop failure due to insufficient moisture became to great and most of the farming efforts were abandoned. In the last few decades many of the homesteads were bought and became part of the National Monument which is administered by the BLM.

I had to laugh as it looks like this bumble bee is sitting down on the job, but it's a matter of perspective. I believe it's at the edge of this flower but looks like it's sitting on the next one over.

It sits there in a beautiful place surrounded by nothing. ,It will never know how beautiful it is. It will never know how strong it is.
For it was just fate and its destiny to live out its "life alone in a beautiful place surrounded by
Nothing, and because of this all it will be is
a lonely tree.

Le Hérisson ( Le torrent aux 31 Cascades) est une rivière du massif du Jura, en France, dans la Région des lacs du Jura français et un affluent de l'Ain, donc un sous-affluent du Rhône.
A small beautiful bird found around the rapids along with the other Redstarts, Dippers and Forktails. These birds are found within the HImalayan forests in India, and are found across South East Asia and much of China.
The bird is often found near water streams patiently waiting on small boulders near waters edge for insects to fly out which it grabs and lands on another boulder. When it sits quietly like in this picture, it makes for a beautiful shot. In several streams, we saw these, usually more than two, along with the Plumbeous Water Redstarts and Forktails.
I think the sexes are alike and colorful since we saw many of them, but didn't see a differentiation. ebird also indicated the same.
Many thanks in advance for the faves and feedback.
