A single rose in full, magnificent bloom, its petals saturated with an electric, vibrant pink. Viewed from directly above, the heart of the rose reveals a delicate cluster of golden stamens. Set against a soft sea of green leaves, this classic symbol of love and beauty feels joyful, passionate, and full of life.
Just as they have since the line opened, trains stop to exchange single line tokens at Glenwhilly. The signalman left it until the last seconds before he emerged from his box to avoid the midges!

Single frame taken with a Canon 50mm F/1.8 - 10sec exp ISO3200. This lens only cost me $90 on ebay, what a bargain! No wonder many refer to this lens as their 'Nifty Fifty'.

That was picked some 10 yrs ago with a single needle. I wanted to do it straight away, but I couldn't find any other needle, so you can imagine it took me a long time :)

All the photos I present were taken in towns and on the beaches near Taormina (Sicily-Italy); I made photos related to "street photography and beach photography"; I made some photo-portraits of people I didn't know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking along the street or on the beaches ... in search of fleeting moments ...
My thoughts, like a huge multitude of his admirers, go to the great Italian singer-songwriter, composer, musician, enlightened thinker and film director Franco Battiato, who recently passed away at the age of 76: He was born in Riposto (at the time called Ionia, in Sicily) near the town where I live (Taormina), and He lived not far away, on the slopes of Etna, in the village of Milo.
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently by means of a post -production. ---------------------------------------------------------
Been planning a concept such as this and lucky enough to have it with a good friend. This concept was hard because we had to make the shoot in our house wherein the problem was I was missing a good background i was planning to have it in a ruin type architecture but in Singapore it is not permitted to carry around toy guns so I need to settle with the set up for now. But still I had fun.

Shown: 1929 Sunbeam Model TT90
Sunbeam Cycles made by John Marston Limited of Wolverhampton was a British brand of bicycles[1] and, from 1912 to 1956 motorcycles. On John Marston's death after the First World War it was bought by Nobel Industries, Nobel became ICI. Associated Motor Cycles bought it in 1937 then BSA bought Sunbeam in 1943. Sunbeam Cycles is most famous for its S7 balloon-tyred shaft-drive motorcycle with an overhead valve in-line twin engine. Many John Marston Sunbeam motorcycle models were produced. The first was a 350 cc in 1912 followed by a range of 500 cc singles and some v-twins. In 1924, a new model numbering system was introduced; Sunbeam Models 1 through 11. Other higher-numbered models were produced in later years. The majority had single-cylinder engines developing relatively low power, though winning the TT races often, the last time in 1929. A hallmark of all Marston Sunbeams was the superb quality and finish in black with gold-leaf pinstriping. [Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunbeam_Cycles#Sunbeam_motorcycles]

Have you ever experienced a momentary encounter with someone when your eyes locked and it struck a deep chord within you? Sometimes we can remember that instant connection for years afterwards even though in the scheme of things it was a pretty insignificant event.
A couple of days ago, my wife and I were returning to town after a couple of hours scouring the countryside for friendly encounters with things that move. As we neared town, I spotted an eagle resting on a smaller tree as he surveyed a wetland pond that was trying to escape the clutches of winter.
After watching for a bit, he decided to leave. Nearly every time I am within 50 yards of an eagle and they get up to leave, they normally head away from me and are soon gone far from me.
But this one decided to circle above the pond and then came back to check me out as if he couldn’t believe what he saw the first time. Always a thrill to look into the eyes of an eagle.
