On my 14th birthday I received a radiogram as a present and this is one of the first two singles I bought . It seems a long time ago now , and it is ! I don't know what happened to the originals but , for nostalgia's sake , I had to buy them again . And , no , I don't still have the radiogram but I do have a record player .

History:

The Battle of Santiago was the second major battle of the Dominican War of Independence and was fought on the 30 March 1844, at Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago Province.

Although outnumbered, Dominican troops, part of the Army of The North and led by General José María Imbert, defeated Haitian Army troops led by General Jean-Louis Pierrot.

SINGLE EXPOSURE - One of the everlasting ethos of light painting is we create our images in a single exposure. That way you know that this is what was on the back of the camera, you know that you can be a complete dipshit like me and make these images without any fancy post processing.

So how are the stars and the foreground sharp?

Set camera to capture the foreground, f9 maybe, focus on the foreground, open shutter, light paint the foreground using a scanner. Then lens cap on, change aperture for the stars, maybe f1.8 (can’t remember but maybe f0.95 on this lens) focus on the stars and lens cap off, wait for 20 secs or so and close shutter. Boom.

Bring on the stars again.
