Single image taken with X-T20 through Skymax 127mm Maksutov telescope (1500mm focal length). Only processing was raising the whites a bit.
RD17361. A busy scene at Porthmadog Harbour Station on the 2ft gauge Ffestiniog Railway in North Wales at the end of the gala that was held over the weekend 22nd - 24th June, 2018. This was held to celebrate the 125th birthday of the 1893 built 2-4-0 ST/T Hunslets LINDA and BLANCHE and lots of other 2ft gauge engines built by the Hunslet Engine Company in Leeds came to the party - as did most of the Ffestiniog's own engines.
From left to right are a pair of Quarry Hunslets, IRISH MAIL and MAID MARIAN. Both were built in 1903, both worked at the Dinorwig Slate Quarry and they are both named after the quarry owner's racehorses. IRISH MAIL is now based at the West Lancashire Light Railway while MAID MARIAN can normally be found at the nearby Bala Lake Railway in North Wales.
Behind them on the flat waggon is the 12¼ inch gauge Fairbourne Railway's half-size version of long lost North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways locomotive BEDDGELERT, an 0-6-4ST built by David Curwen in 1979/80.
In the centre is the Ffestiniog Railway's Single Fairlie 0-4-4T TALIESIN and on the right is their Double Fairlie 0-4-4-0T DAVID LLOYD GEORGE.

A later generation of Rail-link vehicle for Strathclyde PTE is represented by KSU 838P, a Leyland AN68/1R new in 1975 to Greater Glasgow PTE as LA962. Shorn of its roof due to an incident I have no record of, it entered a second life as SA3, a fleetnumber which suggests that there were at least two other single-deck Atlanteans in the fleet.
I think this was visually quite a successful conversion.
I can hardly believe it myself, but I finished the Single girl quilt yesterday evening. I chose an orange binding first, didn't like it, and removed it to add a simple white binding. Still not sure about this one either, but I'm not doing it a third time. The back is plain white because I didn't want a fabric that would shine through the top. I hand-quilted it with orange coton perlé and am glad I did, because without it, the quilt would be a bit too white to my taste.

After Henry Ford was replaced by Henry Leland (the master of precision), formed the Cadillac Automobile Company, in Detroit. Leland had previously made engines under the Leland and Falconer names for Oldsmobile before joining the Henry Ford Company to make his single cylinder engine for the Ford Model A, and Cadillac. When the association with Ford was broken, Cadillac continued to make the Model A mid mounted engine into 1904, when it was joined by the Model B which had a dummy bonnet (hood).. Leland practiced rigorous interchangeability of parts and his single cylinder Cadillac (1903-08) won the 1908 Dewar Cup in a spectacular demonstration of this when three new Cadillacs were disassembled their parts scrambled and three cars built from the pile of bits without any hand fitting.

Metroline DE1165 (LK11CWX) is seen at St John's Wood, War Memorial on route 274.
This route will soon gain a full double deck allocation once low trees have been cut down.
Class 122 single railcar 55006 in between turns at Penzance on 10th May 1988.
The unit is preserved and is based at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway where it has been repainted in original green livery. The 122s were built for BR by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in 1958.
I’ve finished applying the conductive tape & electrical wires to these crossovers. I left a gap in the middle to allow for current isolation between the two lines.
I’m contemplating on doing another pair of singles w/o isolation, or at least one double crossover.

Day fifteen .. In the Northwest Highlands on our journey to Helmsdale where we are staying the night.
The Northwest Highlands are located in the northern third of Scotland that is separated from the Grampian Mountains by the Great Glen (Glen More). The region comprises Wester Ross, Assynt, Sutherland and part of Caithness.
The geology of the Highlands is complex. Along the western coastal margin it is characterised by Lewisian gneiss, the oldest rock in Scotland. Liathach, Beinn Alligin, Suilven, Cùl Mòr, Cùl Beag, and Quinag are just some of the impressive rock islands of the significantly younger rich brown-coloured Torridonian sandstone which rests on the gneiss. Some of the peaks, such as Beinn Eighe and Canisp, are topped with later light grey or white Cambrian quartzite. Cambro-Ordovician limestone is also to be found in a narrow outcrop between Durness and Skye. The larger part of the region is formed from rocks of the Moine succession much of which is metamorphosed sandstones (psammites) and schist. These have over-ridden the gneiss and the Cambrian and Ordovician rocks of the northwest margin along the Moine Thrust Belt.
The region has steep, glacier-carved mountains, glens and interspersed plains. Elevations of around 750 metres (2500 ft) or over are common, as are mountains exceeding 3000 feet or 914 m (Munros).
The Northwest Highlands are typically not quite as cold as the Cairngorms. Considering its terrain and its latitude of about 57 to 58 degrees North, the area is surprisingly warm: this is due to the mild influence of the Gulf Stream. The aurora borealis is sometimes visible on winter nights, especially at the climax of the 11-year cycle. Bordering the region to the north east is the lowland area of Caithness. There are relatively few roads, and many are single lane (with passing places). The region has a very low population density. Significant settlements are Kyle of Lochalsh, Mallaig, Dingwall, Dornoch, and Ullapool.
