"In 1987 I moved to Dallas,Tx where I began going to art school. It was then that I discovered, through punk and new wave, a new shade of influence in songwriters like Julian Cope, David Sylvian, Ian McCulloch and Lloyd Cole. I began to write my own songs at this time blending these influences with the American songwriters I had recently discovered like Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt and Tom Waits and working to find my own voice. I started playing open mics in Dallas. My first gig was opening for Rhett Miller at Club DaDa in Dallas. I was terrified, terrible and hooked forever."

Not much in the way of improv comedy this particular evening. This show was less acoustic and less intimate than before, and fan involvement was also toned down. But the full band arrangement more than made up for it, and it was still a great show.
