Wu Tong is a Chinese Sheng and Bawu player and singer had lessons with his father at the age of five and already won competitions for traditional Chinese wind instruments during his childhood. Eleven years later, he was accepted into the program of the Central Music Conservatory, and he was the youngest solo instrumentalist of China central traditional music and Dance Company, with whom he performed in China and abroad.
In 1991, he founded the Lunhai rock group with four students from the Central Conservatory, which, following the success of the title on the way to Wartime Yangzhou, released a recording of Xin Qiji at JVC Japan in 1995, 1997 and 2001 and was the Chinese rock band, had a gig on Chinese television.

2023/08/22 Sara Curruchich - Guatemalan Folk Singer

"Guatemalan singer-songwriter of Kaqchikel descent.
She sings in both Spanish and the Kaqchikel language, and is one of the first musicians to use the latter in popular music.
She became well known in her country with her 2015 song "Ch'uti'xtän" ("Girl"). Since then, she has released two albums and multiple singles.
Curruchich is also an activist in defense of women's and indigenous people's rights.
For her work as an activist, she has won the MIAW Transformer Award at the 2021 MTV Millennial Awards, and been selected for the Ford Fellowship Foundation Global Fellowship Program."
Singer, composer, musician, curator, activist, producer, and storyteller Toshi Reagon presented a special first glimpse into her creative process during a work-in-progress showing of "You're Having Too Much Fun So We're Gonna Have to Kill You" on Friday, October 7, 2022 in the Center for the Arts Theater. Reagon concluded her year-long artist residency at Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts developing the new production. She was joined by vocalists Be Steadwell, Josette Newsam, and Carla Duren, keyboard player Kim Jordan, bassist Fred Cash Jr., drummer Matt Graff, and multi-instrumentalist Adam Widoff on guitar. The work-in-progress showing was followed by an outdoor disco party with artist manager, producer, remixer, music supervisor, performer, recording artist, writer, and DJ Bill Coleman. Collaborating disco choreographers and performers included Madrone Cochran '23, Mika Foguel '25, Sabine Geary '23, Amaal Ladha '23, Charissa Lee '23, Halle Newman '23, and Rebeca Trevino '24; with guidance from Assistant Professor of the Practice in Dance and African American Studies Joya Powell.
