The Archibald Simpson in Aberdeen, formerly a bank but now a JD Wetherspoon pub. Named after one of the less popular characters in the long-running American animation series. Not really. Named after Aberdeen architect Archibald Simpson (1790-1847). Amongst many other things, he designed this building for the North of Scotland Bank in 1839. The sculpture at the top shows Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, flanked by the cowardly lion and.....again, not really. It's Ceres, the goddess of plenty.
Marge admires a bottle of ScienceWater and notices the label is in all lowercase letters and declares, "it's like drinking e.e. cummings."
