i took my camera into the cinema and took a photo it flashed and everyone saw but i was drunk and didn't care.
a couple minutes earlier, OJ Simpson (in the green shirt and white visor) was sitting in a chair right under that Gangster sign. THAT is what i wanted! by the time i went all the way back to my office to grab my camera and got back out there, he was already saying his goodbyes to his buddies at Gangster Subs. man, it would have been such a great pic of him right there in the chair under the big sign that reads Gangster.

simpsons in penzance is a now-rare survival of the 'ladies' and gentlemen's outfitters' familiar in every provincial town from the 50s to the 70s before the rise of branded clothing chain stores. the interior fitout here appears to date from the 1950s.
The business was started in the 1860s and is still family-run - there is a touch of 'are you being served?' about these places :)
