there is nothing i love more than seeing pure joy on my dogs' faces.
i live vicariously through thier happiness... they remind me each day to enjoy the simple things in life.
Listening to music and revisiting the simple joys of years past. Life is good at the Subdued Stringband Jamboree!
The challenge here was to capture not so much the light, as there wasn't any, but the cold glow of the light trying and failing to break through the clouds and the trees. And keep the branches on the treetops in focus. True blacks are my holy grail.

Breakfast Special
A couple went to breakfast at a restaurant where the special was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for $2.99.
"The special sounds good," the wife said. "But I don't want the eggs."
"Then I'll have to charge you three dollars and seventy-nine cents because you're ordering a la carte," the waitress warned her.
"You mean I'd have to pay extra for not taking the eggs?" the wife asked incredulously. "I'll take the special."
"How do you want your eggs?"
"Raw and in the shell," the wife replied. She took the two eggs home.

It's the simple things that stir my soul

A cardinal's pomp on a dogwood perch;
The toll of a bell that beckons to church;
A golden sky at the end of day;
A train whistle heard from miles away;
A knitted scarf to cover my head;
The smell of hay or fresh-baked bread;
Smoke that lingers low in the pines;
Berries in summer covering their vines;
