I finally finished sewing the top that nearly drove me insane. Nothing fancy, just plain white cotton, some gathers and pin tucks for detail, and I can see myself wearing it a lot.

well, it looks good one her in person. ir only looks like this in the picture but it's ok. by the way, this was the first time that i saw the cuteness of the nino :D

Simple Gifts was written by Shaker Elder Joseph Brackett, Jr. in 1848. It was first published in The Gift to be Simple: Shaker Rituals and Songs. Simple Gifts was a work song sung by the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing (more commonly called the Shakers, an offshoot of the Quakers).

on this Thanksgiving Day.
when in Italy last month, the chain smoking bean lady (as we called her) told me her way to cook simple beans - simmer in water, with a lot of sage and garlic. drain, dress with good olive oil, salt and pepper. She looked at me as if I was an imbecile when she realized I had neither sage or garlic in my basket.. She fixed that.
This is the best bean dish I have ever had. So simple, relies on really good ingredients.
