Shores of Lake Erie

It was drizzly here today, so I thought I'd try some indoor photography. 'Keep it Simple' I said to myself as I added one thing after another, after another, after another. One day it's possible I might listen to my own advice, just not today it seems. :)

The 2 porcelain pin cushion (or topper) dolls were made in Germany and date from the 1920s. The 3 wooden cotton reels in the foreground are from the 1910s and the 2 larger ones behind them are from the 1950s. The embroidery scissors are by Mappin & Webb and date from the 1900s.

Yesterday morning's post-sunrise pastels just seemed to cry out for a long exposure to bring a sense of calmness and tranquility to a gorgeous morning.

Mesclun leaves, 1/2 of a small tomato roughly chopped, a bit of sliced cucumber, spring onion, 1/2 radish, 1/2 mushroom, a fork full of baby caper berries, a couple of anchovy filets, topped with homegrown mung bean and fenugreek sprouts, ready for a homemade vinaigrette...

The corner balconies of new apartments near to the City of London bring to mind the jaws of an ancient, long extinct, creature.

#74/365 I always challenge myself to get good shots at average places...it forces you to be creative with composition. Without a specific subject or focal point the whole scene becomes the focus which leaves you with only composition (I'm starting to sound like im wise or something). This shot reminds me of the Pho Resturant shot, where I make the best out of an average looking place. I call this shot "Simple" to let the composition stand on it's own. No fancy words, no black bars and not much PP (some color tweaks). Hope you like it.

A simple pleasure for the squirrel is a peanut! A simple pleasure for me is being able to watch and photograph 😊

This simple violet caught my eye blooming in front of this tree root. My neighbor spends hours pulling them up out of her lawn, lol, not me, I treasure them! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!

this pink is so different than the flower below. the one below is so showy and bold and sassy and look at me - while this one is so elegant and soft and sophisticated and unassuming. i love the difference in them. but they are both so lovely.

Super simple design for a purist bayonet. All you need is a hand and a cutlass. I stole the idea from Colby Customs

I’m gonna try and print a “double clip” piece so it is centered and parallel to the gun barrel.

It was later in the day...... going home from the Zoo when I noticed this little guy buzzing around. She was very bright colored and quick. Lighting wasn't too good and getting enough shutter speed was a problem...... as I didn't have time to change the ISO setting on the camera. But, suddenly she came into a little beam of setting sun and I grabbed the shot. Didn't know there was a highlight in the background till I got back to the hotel room.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. And, thanks again for coming by.
