A new Dales location for me and ably guided by Terry Robert's of this parish.
The views from the summit are wonderful taking in a wide vista in all directions. The best view is without doubt, looking down the upper Wharfe valley towards Appletreewick. The heather here is a few weeks away from being in full bloom, but it was still nice to capture a little of their early promise.
The gritstone rock outcrops are very similar to those I encountered last week on Derwent Edge in the Peak District. Alas, the sunset was not to be up here, but the light at this point was very nice, although the wind chill factor was certainly unlike a July evening!

Taken on my daily walk.Simon's wood is a National Trust wood near Finchampstead in Berkshire. Lovely woodland walk with this Lake in the middle of it. I thought this made a nice picture.
My son Simón was born on November 4, 2006.

Because Simon Liu built a demolition derby car at my suggestion, I guess I'll build one too.
I have friends and family that do demolition derbies during the season, so I get some up close and personal looks with their cars, before and after they are hit. Most of them are 70's beaters, with the hood cut open to reveal an engine. I didn't choose to have an open hood though.
This car is practically brand new. Most cars have every side bashed up, but this one only has the side doors and the back. Some cars have wheels blown off or crunched cabins. If I was in a demolition derby, this would be my car.

La misión jesuítica de San Ignacio Miní se fundó en 1610 por los Padres José Cataldino y Simón Masseta en la rivera izquierda del río Paranápanema con el objetivo de evangelizar a los nativos guaraníes. En 1696 después de algunos asientos provisionales, se establece donde hoy se aprecian los valiosos restos de sus ruinas jesuíticas, en una pequeña reserva fiscal, rodeada por el trazado urbano de la moderna ciudad de San Ignacio, en la provincia argentina de Misiones.
Es la más completa de todas las misiones jesuíticas conservadas en, lo que es hoy, la Provincia de Misiones. El monumento está totalmente cercado y resguardado. Estos restos han sido reconstruidos durante el período 1940-1950.
Prácticamente todo el conjunto urbano estuvo construido en roca arenisca rosada y en menor medida en roca itacurú. Los trabajos de restauración que se ejecutaron en el sitio permiten que podamos apreciar con exactitud lo que fuera la trama urbana de la reducción jesuítica. El templo, la residencia o colegio, los talleres y las viviendas indígenas pueden ser apreciadas en todos sus aspectos funcionales, lográndose una idea acabada de lo que implicaba la vida cotidiana en una reducción jesuítica.
La fachada del templo, los portales de los accesos laterales al templo y el pórtico de la sacristía constituyen obras únicas del barroco misionero-guaraní. Se trata de componentes, junto con la residencia o colegio con sus pisos y corredores y escalinatas originales, que distinguen a San Ignacio Miní y la hacen única en el contexto de los demás conjuntos jesuíticos.

La lista incluye a Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Guy Laffite, Al Cohn, Tete Montoliu, Jerry Lewis, Natalie Cole, Dave Liebman y un largo etcétera. Posee además una dilatada experiencia docente, como profesor de trompeta e improvisación en la Fundació Aula de Música de Barcelona desde 1982 y de trompeta jazz en la Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya. It also has extensive teaching experience as professor of trumpet and improvisation in the Music Classroom Foundation of Barcelona since 1982 and jazz trumpet at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya. Transatlantic Group Founder, participated and recorded CDs with Septeto Max Sunyer, Carles Benavent - Joan Albert Amargós Group, Manel Camp, Iñaki Salvador, Princess of Time, Bebo Valdes and Dave Liebman and Lliure Theatre Chamber Orchestra, among others.
