A Norfolk Southern ethanol train passes through Hammond, Indiana during golden hour. While it was a treat to have the tank cars lit up by the sunset, I was thankful that their flammable contents remained calm and cool :) Thanks for viewing! Feel free to leave a comment if you wish ... but please refrain from smoking :) Many tanks :)

Direction is a funny thing and can mean so many things. I probably owe more meaning to this but I am sure you know what I mean.

It is a funny thing for sure.

A freight train had to stop for a red signal. For a brief moment silence invaded the rail until something bright appeared. It was the passing Pendolino heading towards North, while path was clear to the train to continue its journey towards South.

Erdap Letoh had a dream. He wanted to run his own hotel. He had 63 family members living in town and figured they could all work for him. It would be a real family business. Erdap bought a building, remodeled it and was getting close to opening when he realized he needed a name for the hotel. In some ways, Erdap was a little slow.

Erdap was really starting to sweat because he needed to order signs, hats and t-shirts. As he put his name tag on in front of the mirror, big family, everyone had name tags, Erdap noticed that his reflected name spelled out Padre Hotel in reverse letters (don't go all optical on me here, it's just a story). Well, that was it! Erdap called his hotel the Padre Hotel.

The above story is fictitious except the part about having a big family.

Napa Valley doesn't just squish grapes to make wine. They make clocks also. Unfortunately, they usually make the clocks after sampling the wine.

And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.

The City just replaced the electrical and signal lines in this area and patched the road asphalt. They are still working on the other end of the street. That's the last time they invite Godzilla for the homecoming game!

Alejuandro has been retired for ten years. He figures he probably can get another ten before he's toes up. Alejuandro has gotten into photography recently and, like most photographers, takes risks at times to get the shot. Unfortunately, Margaret, who is still driving at 90, didn't see Alejuandro standing in the middle of the street. Alejuandro didn't get those next ten years he figured he had.

Mai Krach had a plumbing business. He was barely making ends meet. Granted it may have had something to do with the fact that every job he did, he seemed to break more than he fixed. But, Mai was really lucky. His brother-in-law was a traffic engineer and convinced the city that Mai could prefab a support tree inexpensively for traffic warning lights, cameras and sensors which coincidentally would keep Mai from breaking anything at his brother-in-law's house. Now, Mai just sits in his shop and screws together standard nipples and fittings. He doesn't even have to do the installing and he can drive around town pointing out all the work he has done for the city.

The above story is fictitious except the part about breaking stuff in Mai's brother-in-law's house. Mai's brother-in-law would never let Mai work on anything in his house. Ever!

Back in 1676, the Abenaki people had finally had enough of the English colonists living in this village and the continual encroachment of the Abenaki lands. The Abenaki completely destroyed the village. Unfortunately for the Abenaki, the English colonist were persistent buggers and colonists returned two years later.

Eventually, the Abenaki were decimated and the English colonists could drink tea without fear.

The above story is fictitious American history for the most part.
