New Terminal 2 signage at San Diego Airport. Gone is the white-on-dark blue with large bright lettering. The new signs are a dark green with much smaller type. Contrast this with the older sign in the background.

This is the signage at the shopping plaza known as "Ames Plaza". However, Ames Department Store has not been in the plaza for many years. Other businesses occupy space in the plaza. Several rumors have circulated about possible tenants. However, to-date (10/30/09) the space remains vacant.

Update:

The Cumberland Times-News reported on May 6, 2009:

The former Ames Plaza is set to undergo renovations in order to be leased out as a professional building for doctor offices.

At Thursday’s Board of Zoning Appeals meeting, the board granted the request of West Industrial Boulevard, LLC, for a conditional use permit to establish an ambulatory health care facility at 1050 W. Industrial Boulevard.

This will be a welcome addition to Cumberland! Hopefully the medical center will become a reality. We'll have to wait and see.
