A MANHATTAN MUSIC FESTIVAL CELEBRATING VETERANS
New York, New York
The Memorial Day main attraction at NYC Fleet Week 2019, the “Side By Side” music festival welcomed the public, some 2.600 veterans, active military, and their families to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. Audiences were treated to award-winning musical performances, talks by with distinguished veterans, military exhibits, and activations.
Taking full advantage of New York media coverage and social media exposure, Britten’s project management team took full responsibility for conceptual design, printing, fabrication, and installation of stage graphics, barricade fencing, and an attention-grabbing FOAM3D selfie-sign in the shape of a guitar headstock.
A successful and high-profile event on every front, the jam-packed music bash was also the first-of-its-kind honoring military service. Britten was proud to take part, a feeling echoed in the words of Juan Serrano, director of Northwell Health’s Military and Veterans Liaison Services, who said, “It’s an honor to serve those who serve. No matter where, no matter why—no matter what."

This is an example of processing by stretching the histogram in Photoshop CC. Fresh water is so turbid that sometimes the particulate in the water literally obscures the fish. By stretching the histogram one restores the natural color as well as clears the haze that is present. In this case the Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is shown in its natural environment with natural color. Image taken in the East Portal of the Gunnison River in Colorado.
This exquisite corpse project was so fun! Once kids finished measuring, the drawing part was a breeze. Everyone laughed a lot when they saw the weird combinations they could make.
A project I taught for Side-by-Side, an arts program at the Visual Art Center of Richmond in which children team up with their parents or other adults to make art.
